Dear Taekwondo Community,
It is my greatest pleasure to invite you to participate in the First Central Virginia Open on March 21st 2015. This Epic
event will be held at Hermitage High School in Henrico Virginia. We will be featuring all traditional events Forms,
Breaking, and Sparring. We will also be featuring a Grand Championship event for the winners of 12-14, 15-17, 18-32
World Class Sparring competitors, in which the winners will receive a Cash Prize along with A WTF approved ultra-light
weight uniform to accompany them on their journey to success at Nationals, Internationals and hopefully one day the
Olympics.
Tournaments are a great opportunity for coaches, athletes, and parents to show how much they or their students, or
children have progressed in the great sport of taekwondo. As such the referees are an important part of tournaments,
so I have hand chosen referees that I believe to be fair, honest, and experienced to be a part of this event, to insure that
the tournament will run as smoothly and as professional as possible. Without your support none of this could be
possible.
We will also be giving out one picture from the podium free of charge to all winners of all divisions.

GENERAL INFORMATION
COMPETITION:
2015 CENTRAL VIRGINIA OPEN
COMPETITION FEES:
1.) Sparring (kyorugi), Traditional Forms (Poomsae), Breaking (kyukpa). Pre-Registration: $70 for
one event $10/each additional event. Must be received by March 6th 2015. On-Site Registration:
$90 for one event, $10/each additional event.
2.) Mail-in registrations will be accepted but must be Post marked by March 13th 2015 to receive
early registration rates. Mail in payments must be in Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard/Discover),
Money Order, Cashiers check, or Cash. Checks must be made payable to Epic Martial Arts.
*Credit card transaction will receive a $5 processing fee
3.) At the door registration can be done in cash, money order, Credit Card, or Cashiers checks, no
personal checks accepted at the door.

Time Schedule:
8:00-9:30 On-site registration and registration pickup.
9:00-9:30 Referee and coaches meeting
9:30-11:30 Forms and breaking competition
10:45-11:45 World class division black belt weigh-ins. You may weigh in at the venue 7:00pm- 830pm
Friday March 20th
11:45-12:45 Lunch break
1:00-5:00 Sparring Competition
5:00-6:00 Grand Championship event

Coaching
Coaching pass is $25 at the door. Coaches will receive 1 free pass for every 10 competitors.
Weigh-in:
Is required for all 12-32 black belts only. Weigh in will be available Friday 7:00-8:30 pm and
Saturday 10:45-11:45am.
Equipment:
All competitors are required to have white, red, or blue helmet, chest guard, forearm guard, shin
guard, groin cup, and mouth guard.
12-32 Black belts must bring Daedo socks as you will be using Daedo PSS. Please contact if you
want to pre-purchase sock. You will be able to rent socks for $10 fee on site.
Awards:
Trophies will be awarded to all first place finishers. Medals will be given to all 2 nd and 3rd place
winners
Grand Champions awards:
12-14 Black belt winners will receive $100 Gift package.
15-32 Black Belt Winners will receive $200 Gift Package
