Ph.D. Entrance Test-2015
Students who desire to take admission for the Ph.D. course for the Academic
Year 2015 – 2016 are informed to apply to the National Centre for Nanosciences and
Nanotechnology. The details of which are as follows:
1.
Last Date for Acceptance of Application Form: Wednesday, 8th April 2015.
2.
Date and Time of Entrance Test: Sunday, 12th April 2015 at 11.00 a.m.-1.00 p.m.
3.
Entrance Test Result Declaration: Thursday, 16th April 2015.
4.
Interview Date: Monday and Tuesday, 20th & 21st April 2015
5.
Eligibility: Master Degree in Physics/Chemistry/Life Science/Biotechnology/
Nanoscience & Nanotechnology/Pharmacy/Engineering (55% marks for general
category students and 50% marks for reserved category students).
6.
Registration Fees along with Application Form: A demand draft in favor of
“Finance and Accounts Officer”, University of Mumbai of Rs. 1000/- for general
Category and Rs.500/- for Reserve Category.
7.
Syllabus for Entrance Test: Entrance test shall be conducted in the aptitude and
General sciences including various topics in the core subjects of the Post Graduate
Degree Level.
8.
Exemption from appearing for Entrance Test: NET, SET qualified students, valid
GATE score and students having M.Phil degree but they should send the
application and appear for the interview
9.
Intake Capacity: Ph.D.( 14 Students)
10.

Important:
1. The candidate may download the Application Form for the said entrance Test from
the University website (www.mu.ac.in) and submit filled in application along with
one set of relevant self attested certificates and documents (if any), to The Director
National Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Mumbai, Kalina
Campus, Santacruz (E), Mumbai 400098.
2. Incomplete filled forms if submitted will be rejected
3. The pre Ph.D. course work is mandatory except for those who have been granted
exemption as per U.G.C. rules and regulations which are mentioned in the VCD No.
Exam./Thesis/Univ./VCD/2414 of 2010. The details regarding the same is available
on the University website http://www.mu.ac.in (Research)
