Next weekend there will be only one collection. CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these brothers of mine, you did for me” (Mt 25:40) Today, we are reminded that Jesus identified himself with our poorest brothers and sisters. The Catholic Relief Services Collection serves Jesus in the victims of human trafficking, in those who need pastoral care and humanitarian assistance across the globe. Through supporting today’s collection you help Jesus in disguise. Please be generous. EASTER FLOWERS & DECORATIONS You can still make a donation for Easter flowers and decorations for our church. If you donate $20 or more you can designate the offering in memory of a loved one, living or deceased, in thanksgiving or for any other intention close to your heart. Intentions will be printed in a future bulletin. Additional envelopes are available in the vestibule of the church. Easter Sunday 6AM Resurrection (Polish) & 10:30AM (Polish), 9:30 & 11:30AM (English) There is no 6:30AM, 8AM or 5PM Mass on Sunday LENT Lent began on Ash Wednesday, February 18th, and continues until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. “Alleluia” is not sung or said from the beginning of Lent until the Easter Vigil. During Lent, the Main Altar should not be decorated with flowers. STATIONS OF THE CROSS Throughout Lent, we encourage you to attend the Stations of the Cross on Wednesdays at 7:00PM in English. Each Friday we will begin at 6PM with the Gorzkie Zale (Lenten Hymn) and continue with the Stations of the Cross in Polish. CONFESSIONS DURING LENT Fr. Janusz will hear confessions daily (Monday Saturday) before the 7:30AM mass and every Sunday before each mass all throughout Lent. CHURCH CLEANERS Mr. & Mrs. Jozef Talik, March 20 Fr. Janusz & Walentyna Plonska, March 27 Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Talik, April 3 Page 3 SCHOOL NEWS In this last week of the 2015 Bucks for Books Drive, OLH is reaching out to the parishes and community to help meet the goal of the campaign. The drawing of the BUCKS FOR BOOKS grand raffle will be held on March 19. The raffle of prizes from $500-$20,000 is a major fund raiser to benefit the programs at the regional school. Please call 283-9140 to secure your tickets. The eighteen members of the Hamptonix, the boys’ show choir for grades three to six traveled to St. Joseph’s Convent and performed for the retired nuns . The boys entertained after having a tour of the magnificent Sacred Heart Chapel and sharing the noon meal in the convent refectory. March Madness was truly present during the first week of the month, with students participating in the CYO Cheerleading competition, SCMEA music festival, diocesan Honor Band, the Brookhaven Lab Science Bowl, and the first two play-off rounds of CYO basketball. Mrs. Valerie Hanley and her Prep 7 students presented an original play “Super-Heroes of the Bible” as their class assembly. Registration for the September 2015 year at the OLH preschool at St. Rosalie’s Parish Center in Hampton Bays is now open. A fully licensed program for three and four year olds in preparation for elementary school is available with extended hours. Call 283-9140 to arrange tours and interviews. Space is limited. Our Lady of the Hamptons, the East End’s premier Catholic school, chartered by the State of New York, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools is also recipient of a Blue Ribbon for Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education. OLH serves parishes and communities extending from Quogue to Montauk. Information packets and registration materials are available at the school now, leading toward September 2015 enrollment. Registration for prospective kindergarten students (must be 5 years old prior to November 30, 2015), and grades one through five must be completed before March 15. Admission to the OLH prep (grades 6,7,8) in the newly constructed complex is limited but available. Tours can be arranged at any time, by calling 283-9140.The community is advised to circle the dates for three special events sponsored by OLH: Saturday, March 28 EVENING BINGO (adults only) , Friday, April 17: SENIOR CITIZENS’ LUNCHEON, sponsored by the Class of 2015, and the annual LADIES’ LUNCHEON AND CHINESE AUCTION Sunday, May 17 at The Muses in Southampton. CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL The Catholic Ministries Appeal is off to a great start! So far, we have received $2,797.00 towards our goal of $20,700. Thank you for your donations! Please make your check out to Our Lady of Poland or send it directly to the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Be sure to write OLP in the “memo” so we get credit for your donation. Your faithful support will make a difference in the lives of so many of your neighbors in the community. One person can accomplish, but when we work together as a faithful community, we can accomplish so much more! CONFIRMATION DATE All Confirmation candidates will receive the sacrament of Confirmation at Sacred Hearts on Hill Street on Thursday, May 14th at 4:30PM. Bishop Robert Brennan will be the celebrant. Confirmation Families please be sure to hand in all your paperwork and mark your calendars for the Confirmation retreat Saturday, April 25th. First Holy Communion will be celebrated in our parish on Saturday, May 3rd at 9:30AM. A NIGHT AT THE RACES Presented by St. Isidore on Friday, March 20th in the School Auditorium, 515 Marcy Ave, Riverhead. Doors open at 6PM, Dinner 6:30PM, Race begins at 7:30PM. Entry Fee $10. 8 Races ($2 to bet per race) For Tickets call their Rectory at 727-2114. All proceeds to benefit St. Isidore Food Pantry. DIARY OF ANNE FRANK McGann-Mercy Theatre Company to Perform "Diary of Anne Frank": On March 19th - 21st, the members of the award winning McGann-Mercy Theatre Company will perform their version of the stage adaptation, "The Diary of Anne Frank". Running from Thursday, March 19th through Saturday, March 21st in the school auditorium, the show starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and will be sold at the door. DIVINE MERCY There is recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:15AM before the 7:30AM daily mass Monday through Saturday. You are invited to join us. It is an ongoing pilgrimage of faith for our youth and young adults. The experiences our young people have during this pilgrimage are life changing experiences of faith that ultimately lead them closer to Christ Jesus. It is not a mission that lasts just a day or a week – it is part of a lifetime journey of faith! Join the Diocese of Rockville Centre as we journey together with 206 Tours to Krakow for WYD 2016! In this healing time of serenity and spiritual enrichment, music, guided prayer pauses, meditative techniques and life exploration sharings will lead us to the quiet place within and to our individual truth and purpose. Please stop by the rectory during office hours if you would like to have a mass said in memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving or for another intention close to your heart. MEMORIAL BRICKS A memorial brick is a great gift for a wedding, birth, living or deceased memorial and more. Many visitors and neighbors have commented about how nice it looks having all of our memorial bricks around the Blessed Mother. Thank you for your support of this program, and please note that this program will be ongoing. A memorial brick costs $100 dollars. Forms are available in the vestibule of the church. RECTORY OFFICE HOURS If you would like a mass card, dedicate mass intentions or flowers, receive a baptismal certificate or any other business matter, please stop by the rectory on any Monday thru Friday between the hours of 12PM - 3PM If you are not available during these times, please call the rectory at 283-0667 and we would be happy to schedule an appointment with you. Please note the rectory is closed on all Holidays and Holy Days.
