Now the world’s 15th largest economy, Korea is a key development partner of the WBG and an important contributor to the IDA. 11:00 – 12:30 This session will reflect on Korea’s emergence as a unique donor, highlight the key results of Korea-financed WBG programs, and suggest the way forward for Korea’s role as an important growing donor. Today, the WBG has a series of diverse and innovative partnerships and programs with Korean partners. This session will give a general overview of on-going Korea-financed WBG programs and results, and discuss ways to strengthen WBG-Korea partnerships. The session will explore the current business environment, how skills are advanced, and how competitiveness of SMEs leads to sustainable development. Discussions will also include ways to improve regulatory and labor policies that affect the way firms operate.
