Food Bank
There is still a need in our City of Bangor for our help in providing what
we can to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Anything we can
give in the box in the porch can make a difference however small.
Thank You. God Bless. Jeff Gough.
Refurbishment fundraising – lamb for sale!
Frozen whole or half lambs, individual joints, stewing meat, sausages
and mince are all available now. The lambs were all reared carefully
by us and grass-fed so the meat is good. At the end of the season we
donate a proportion of all St John’s sales to the refurbishment fund.
Last year this raised more than £180 with Gift Aid. If you would like
more details, please phone 01248 600226. John and Della Fazey.
Lent Study Group
Rev. Chrissie Howe and Judith Holliman are leading a Lent Study
Group at St. John’s in the vestry every Thursday afternoon in Lent at
2:30 p.m. The group is using this year’s CTBI study material, “Walking
and praying with Christians of the Middle East". The topics are:
March 26th: 5 Lebanon - We wish to see Jesus.
April 2nd: 6 Palestine - Entering Jerusalem.

Feedback from Circuit Meeting 17 March
Finance: The treasurer, Martyn Boyce reported that at the half-year
point, income was £1500 less than expenditure, but that the situation
would right itself by year-end.
Property: The Property Steward, Malcom Gilroy reported that the
annual returns were now being input on-line. Unfortunately, the
system cannot cope with a church that owns no property, like
Holyhead which pays rent for the use of St. David’s church. The
system changes are not scheduled until September.
Local Preachers: Dr. Ian Russell was accepted by the Circuit as an
Accredited Local Preacher, in accordance with the Local Preachers’
Meeting recommendation.
St. John’s Refurbishment: The Circuit agreed to remit £40,000 to St.
John’s Church from reserves towards the Refurbishment Project.
A Marie Curie Coffee Morning is to be held in the Church Hall on
Friday 27th March 10 a.m. – 12 noon with .Cake and craft stalls.
All proceeds will be toward the Marie Curie Foundation. Please see.
