Admission Process for PGPEx-MBIC 2015-16 Batch Important Dates 15th May 2015, 17:55 Hrs. Final Results & Admission Offer Registration Date The Post Graduate Program for Executives - Managing Business in India and China (PGPExMBIC) is designed jointly by Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIMS), India and the Ocean University China (OUC), Qingdao to provide General Management education in the context of emerging economies in general and in the context of host Institution countries in specific, so as to uniquely prepare global leaders to conduct business in such economies. The Program aims at equipping its participants with such knowledge and skills which could, in specific, lend them an edge in managing transnational businesses across India and China, and in general also enable them to perform at strategic levels in businesses across all emerging economies. Eligibility to Apply The program is designed for working executives from reputed organizations operating out of emerging economies. All the applicants must have at least a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized University, work experience of managerial / supervisory roles (05 years and above is desirable) and with CAT (percentile of the test taken in either of the years 2013 and 2014) and/GMAT (scores for the past three years). Appropriate relaxations may be granted for candidates with strong managerial/supervisory role experience. Application Fee: The candidates applying as Indian Nationals need to pay refundable Application Fee of INR 3,000 (Rupees Three Thousand Only), while applying for admission into PGPEx 2015-16 batch. The candidates applying as Other Nationals (other than Indian National) need to pay non-refundable Application Fee of USD 250, while applying for admission into PGPEx 201516 batch. Note: The Revised last date for submission of online application form will be 15th May 2015, 17:55 Hrs. [(UTC+05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi.] However, applicants are requested to apply much before, without waiting till last moment, in order to avoid any unforeseen technical glitch; for which IIM Shillong will not be responsible. Program Duration: The PGPEx- 2015-16 will run for 14 months starting on 7th October 2015 and ending on 18th December 2016. Program Fee. For Indian Nationals: INR 13 Lakhs For Chinese Nationals: USD 24,000. For Other Nationals (other than Indian and Chinese): USD 27,000. This fee includes tuition fee and accommodation fee in India and China only. The candidates will have to bear the cost of food, Visa+ fee, Entry fee and Air/Surface travel, etc. connected with this program. The approximate estimated cost of such heads of expenditure is expected to be in the range of INR 2 lakh to INR 5 lakh (USD 4,000 to USD 10,000). +Note: The Institute (Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong) will not be responsible for extreme cases of refusal of Visa by the Chinese authorities. For the extreme case of visa refusal, the relevant program fee paid to the institute will be refunded. For the previous batches, all participants were provided visa by the Chinese authorities. 2 Program Acceptance fee: Once the admission is offered to the candidates, the same has to be confirmed by paying an acceptance fee of INR 1 lakh (for candidates of Indian Nationals) or USD 10,000 (for overseas candidates with Other Nationals other than Indian). This will later be adjusted with the program fee mentioned above. Any bank charges applicable will have to be borne by candidate. After making the payment, the candidate will have to upload the screenshot of the confirmation page (if the amount is transferred online) or the scanned copy of the payment counterfoil (if paid at the bank) to confirm the submission while applying for the program through PGPEx Admission Portal. This snapshot/counterfoil should include the Unique Transaction Reference Number (UTR No). Other Nationals Overseas candidates will have to make the payment via electronic transfer using the SWIFT code. Any bank charges applicable will have to be borne by candidate. Note 2: All the candidates shortlisted for EAC Phase, and whose graduation scores are given as CGPA in their respective mark sheets, must bring a certificate at the time of EAC Phase from the competent authority of their University/Institution stating either of the following: i) The conversion formula certified by the University/Institution for converting the CGPA into corresponding percentage of marks. ii) The absence of any conversion formula certified by the University/Institution for converting the CGPA into corresponding percentage of marks. (In such cases, the percentage marks would be calculated as CGPA*100/CGPA Scale). Note 3: Exact details of the Venue and Date for the EAC@IIMS will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates separately. EAC@IIMS will be conducted over Virtual EAC through SKYPE or other digital medium for overseas applicants. Note-4: The criteria for selection process as discussed in the document are decided based on the pattern and performance trends of the past years’ PGPEx Admission Process, who had applied to this Institute.
