Submitted by Larry Smith
Thank you to all for making this year’ss sale the most profitable ever! Our profit was $5,095.99. A special thank
you goes to all who picked up and moved items, our bakers, and those who worked the sale. We could not do this
without your support. A huge thank you to Joyce Crites and her kitchen crew for the delicious food served.

We will begin picking up items for the next sale in the fall. Starting with the upcoming season, we will no longer
accept sleeper sofas or the old heavy TV sets.

Season 2014 – 2015 is winding down
As the season draws nears the end, many of our residents will head north for the summer. Hopefully, the snow and
ice will be gone when they get there, but I am sure a snow shovel is available, if needed!! A few reminders to those
leaving us in the next few days:
Unplug all appliances and cover them where possible
Clean all surfaces
Replace air conditioner filter and set thermostat at 780 ; set humidistat according to manufacturer guidelines
Turn off all electricity (except for the air conditioner)
Leave refrigerator door, cabinet doors, and closet doors open
Run ice cubes through garbage disposal and then a solution of baking soda and water
Cover all drains
Clean oven and broiler
To avoid dust build-up, cover furniture
Close all drapes or blinds
Add 1 cup of bleach to toilet. Wrap seat and tank with plastic wrap
Use water shut off valves to turn off water at each shut off valve (Some have the water co. shut off the main valve)
Don’t forget the washing machine, dishwasher, toilets, and sinks)
Close all awnings or shutters (or have a back-up plan in place to make this happen if necessary)
Arrange to have lawn mowed and bushes trimmed regularly.
Change batteries in thermostat and smoke detectors.
AND MOST OF ALL – HAVE A SAFE JOURNEY AND FUN SUMMER –
See you next season!
