In the past we sent out email notices that the Newsletter was available by clicking on a provided link. Not too much has changed--except now the link we will be providing is directly connected to website. You can also go to efchb.org, click on the Resources tab, then click Newsletter. There was one needed change in having the Newsletter on a website that is open to the public. In order to provide as much online protection as possible, we will no longer show birthday or anniversary dates. Thank you for understanding the unfortunate necessity of doing everything we can to protect personal information. Blessings, Bernice Leuschel, Church Administrator Work Trip: Aniak, Alaska Don Thorpe is in the preliminary planning stage for a trip to Aniak to work on a house restoration with Bret and Christy Zimmerman. His team size will be limited to 8 persons which could include 3 women to work with Christy. The tentative plans are to spend one week in Aniak with a couple of days travel either side of that week. At this time we are looking at the week of July 13 leaving the 11th and returning the 18th. Airfare at this time is about $850 round trip. We would bring much of our own food and that cost is yet to be determined, but plan on about $200. Housing will be provided. Don will be answering questions and taking sign ups in the courtyard after church service. You can also reach him by calling 714-537-8878. All-Church Assessment/Survey Our Elder Team wants to make sure that we are listening well to you and are seeing the same things that you are seeing. Therefore, we have prepared an extensive, anonymous survey that will help us get the pulse of our church. This survey/assessment may be taken online (preferred) or you may pick one up from the foyer, fill it in by hand, and return it to the church office. Most of you have already received an email with instructions along with the online link If you have not received the email, please request it via email at [email protected]. We are asking all those aged 14 and up who attend our church to take the survey/assessment. The closing date for taking the survey is April 11, 2015. The elders will share the results on or before our annual meeting, May 17, 2015. Now in God’s Care Nancy Yamasaki, Joan Berry’s daughter, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Our sympathies are with Joan and her family. In Loving Memory Linda Frisby’s mother, Florence Layton, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 10, after a long illness. We would like to thank our church family for their support during my mother’s recent illness and passing. So many offered food, prayers, sent cards, gave hugs, and supported us by attending her memorial service and reception. This was so comforting and uplifting for us and a wonderful witness for others to see. Thank You, Burt and Linda Frisby and Family PASTOR’S POINTS Dear Church Family, Easter Celebration and Good Friday Service: This year we celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 5. The children will be with us in the service and it will be a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will sing together. We will pray together. We will hear God’s Word together. Ask a friend to come and see what God is doing in our church. Pray as the Good News is shared that individuals will trust in Jesus. We will also be having a Good Friday service on Friday, April 3, at 7 pm. Come and take some time to think through the death of Christ for us. Family Matters” Sermon Series and Family Dedications: We will be starting a new sermon series on Easter Sunday entitled “Family Matters.” On Easter we will be looking at “Joining the Family.” I will be having Dave Heinz and Steve Economy preaching in this series as well. We will also be having Family Dedications on Sunday, April 12 and 19. The church family plays an important role in this dedication, so come and celebrate with these families. Building Begins I am very thankful to God for this church and for the plan to get the building started. God will use it in a great way in our lives. May your Easter be full of joy!
