A BRIEF BACKGROUND
DPS Raipur, under the aegis of DPS Society Delhi, provides good quality, modern education,
including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of environment,
adventure activities and physical education; an education that is value-based, an education
that imparts roots and also gives wings. Our motto, “Service Before Self” followed by the
guided principle “We value our values” epitomizes the essence of education.
DPS Raipur, situated on the outskirts of Raipur city, creates a congenial and conducive
atmosphere for learning and promoting the budding talents. It has made impressive strides
since its inception.
DPS Raipur has set a milestone by initiating and incorporating internationalism in the
scholastic and co-scholastic activities of the school. The frontiers of internationalism
facilitated for a catalytic change entailed for the young crop of talent to grab the global
landscape.
DPS Raipur fraternity has synchronized with parent community to foster and nurture child
development which will prove to be the foundation stone for benchmark performance.
DPS Raipur is committed to setting high standards in its pursuit of excellence and remaining
sensitive to the issues of human resources, for their nurturing, grooming, enrichment and
development.
We aspire to develop :
Successful Learners, Confident Individuals and Responsible Citizens
We firmly believe that “Giving back is a means towards going ahead”. Hence the foray into
philanthropy that again enshrines our motto. Adoption of Nardaha village was quintessential
of giving back to society.
Our endeavour is to see that
DPS can…
AND
...DPS will

SCHOOL ANTHEM
We stand up together
Our heads held up high,
To sing our school anthem
With honour and pride,
Marching together
With zeal and zest
We D.P.S students
Will give out our best.
D.P.S, D.P.S., school of wisdom and light
D.P.S., D.P.S, where our future is bright,
Keeping our motto in mind everyday
It's “Service Before Self” in every way.
Our days here as students
A pleasure untold,
Our teachers with patience
Their knowledge unfold,
To help us to reach
Those great heights and achieve
Success, power and honour
Wherever we be.

ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.
All things…
The purple – headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky.
All things…
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.
All things…
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

TRY, TRY AGAIN
'Tis a lesson you should heed,
Try, try again,
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try again;
Then your courage should appear,
For, if you will persevere
You will conquer never fear,
Try, try again.
Once or twice though you should fail
If you would at last prevail,
Try, try again
If we strive, 'tis no disgrace
Though we do not win the race
What should you do in that case?
Try, try again
If you find your task is hard, try try again
Time will bring you your reward
Try, Try again
All that other folks can do
Why, with patience should not you
Only keep this rule in view
Try, Try again.

MY CHILD
My child isn't my easel to paint
Nor my diamond to polish!
My child isn't my trophy to flaunt,
Nor my dummy to taunt!
My child isn't my badge or my honour,
Nor my respect that he/she must protect
My child isn't an idea or a fantasy,
Nor my reflection or legacy!
My child isn't my puppet or my project,
Nor my pawn or my cadet!
My child is here to fumble and stumble
To get in and out of trouble!
My child is here to try,
To fail and to cry!
My child is here to unravel the mysteries,
To educate oneself and rewrite histories!
My child is here to make his/her own choices,
To exercise his/her freewill and experience the
consequences!
As a parent,
My task is to make my child able and capable,
To keep aside my ego and be by his/her side!
My task is to guide and educate,
To let be and not frustrate!
My task is to allow him/her to ponder
And see my child grow into a wonder

ALMANAC
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
The 21st century world places an imperative demand on every school to venture out of their
educational cosset and adapt a proactive stance to address the paradigms and challenges of
a rapidly changing society. In this respect the school almanac serves as our conduit to reach
out to the world and ensures an essential bond as well as stipulates an interface between the
parent, child and the school. Furthermore the mentors indubitably go way beyond to
enhance the performance of their protégés by detailed analysis of their grades and
behavioral aspects as well as conveying the same to their parents on a regular basis through
the almanac.
As the pages unfurl it brings forth a preview of the upcoming plethora of activities in the
scholastic and co scholastic domain, community service opportunities, challenging rig
morale of education and bears testimony to our commitment to create a unique blend of core
and applied education.
Along with all possible technical support we believe in interacting with the students on one to
one basis to inspire them for life. We offer opportunities to our students so that they learn to
challenge their own abilities, learn to cooperate and collaborate and hence learn to be a good
global citizen.
We recognize the fact that the world has irreversibly shrunk in terms of time, space and
connectivity. The school has endeavoured to broaden its horizons by forging partner ships
with international institutions and pioneered itself to become the recipient of the international
school award accredited by the British Council. Moreover our perspective is to give wings to
the students' imagination and ideas that need to be brought up in a global environment,
acquiring global competencies and aspiring to be global leaders.
We believe that education is the means by which we discern humanity and contribute
towards its transformation and renewal and that one's education is unsurpassed when
pursued in the companionship of others and hence the integrity of the stakeholders is
essential to our ethos.
Optimistic and anticipating to escalate greater heights……

ALMANAC
ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
We believe that all students have the right to be educated in an environment where there is
mutual respect and co-operation. Bullying is contrary to this approach and we do everything
possible to discourage it.
Bullying is when someone deliberately goes out of their way to threaten, frighten, abuse or
hurt someone else. It is also taunting or name calling as well as damaging a person's
property, clothing or school work. It is ganging up on someone and isolating them.
School is committed to opposing bullying. Any form of the behaviour outlined below should
never be ignored but challenged and the appropriate action taken.
Every pupil has the right to feel safe, secure, happy and free from intimidation.
Bullying can be defined as:
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
·
malicious gossip
verbal threats and abuse
intimidating behaviour causing fear, concern or isolation
aggressive physical contact
interference with personal belongings
sexual, racial, social or disability harassment
exclusion of the victim from group membership
written comments including those posted on social networking sites
graffiti in the school washroom, corridors and classrooms.
It can be defined as bullying if physically or emotionally harmful actions are repetitive, wilful or
persistent are intentionally harmful and carried out by an individual or a group; if there is an
imbalance of power leaving the person who is bullied feeling defenceless.
Remember
It's not your fault that you are being bullied.
You don't have to face this on your own.

Read school circulars, notes and remarks sent by teachers carefully in website or Almanac.
Do spend quality time going through note books especially on weekends.
Encourage your ward to be careful about his / her belongings.
Encourage your child to take interest in academics, co-curricular activities and sports.
Communicate to the teacher any matter of concern with regard to the feedback you receive
from the child, that may help the child gain confidence.
Any change in address or telephone no. must be intimated to school office, VP/HM at the
earliest.
Make sure the child returns the library books within stipulated time, failing which a fine of
Rs. 10/- per day will be imposed and the library facility will be withdrawn. The book may be
reissued after returning to the library.
Result of Formative Assessment (Weekly Test & Activity based test) for every child will be
displayed on the website (if required).
Taking leave during working days is strongly discouraged. Parents are responsible to make
up for the loss of the studies in case of leave taken. The school will expect these students to
be at par with the class in every way and that will have to be ensured by the parents.
Missing out on Formative Assessments (Weekly Tests and Activity Based Evaluations) and
Summative Assessments (Half Yearly and Annual Exam) directly affect the promotion of
the students to the next class at the end of the session. Thus your ward's presence in all the
Formative and Summative Assessments places him / her on a safer pedestal and decides
a better place in the class. Please take these Tests/Evaluations seriously and avoid
absenteeism for the betterment of your ward.
Read the School Almanac / Info book frequently as they carry all the details needed for the
session, be it exam dates, PTM, Fees date / Amount and most importantly behaviour and
academic pattern of your ward in school.

Jostle your mind.
Do you know from the history of the
world where the power of
the prophets lay?
Where was it? In the intellect?
Did any of them write a fine book on philosophy?
Or the most intricate relationship of logic?
Not one of them.
They only spoke a few words.
Feel like Christ and you will be a Christ,
feel like Buddha and you
will be a Buddha.

Children need our presence more

when he needs you and not when
it is convenient for you.
