Introduction
Welcome to the online registration site for the Class of 70s 45th reunion being held from October
22 to October 25, 2015. While our 45th reunion is still several months off, the reunion planning
committee has been busy planning the reunion details so we can have a gathering every bit as
successful as our 40th reunion. Please register early and plan on spending the full 4 days
together with your classmates.
The success of our 40th was in great part due to the participation and commitment of the 36
company representatives who got the word out, surveyed the class, and increased classmate
interest and attendance. We are again utilizing the company rep system; however, it only works
if you respond to their requests. Our events are priced and planned in response to what you tell
us about your attendance and preferences; and if you don’t respond, our attendance estimates
will be off! Accordingly, if you are a company rep and are either unable or unwilling to serve,
contact Class President Mike Novak to so inform him. Again, the company reps are key to the
success of our event, so please take your role seriously if you are one and be willing to step up
if we need a replacement. The role should be easier this year since there will be no reunion
books to sell and distribute.
The reunion is scheduled from Thursday, October 22, 2015, through Sunday, October 25. You
should have received word from your company rep concerning hotel rooms and the general
schedule. As in the past, our reunion headquarters will be at Loews Annapolis Hotel. All the
reserved rooms there have already been booked. There is plenty of hotel space available
elsewhere, but you should move quickly to assure yourself a room if you don’t already have one
booked. Remember, most will accept a reservation held with a credit card and will permit full
refunds if timely cancellation is given. Since we are using “a la carte” pricing this year we will be
charging a reasonable registration fee to cover overhead costs for things like buses, badges, a
small gift bag, etc. “A la carte” pricing selections include the Thursday reception, the Friday
dinner/dance, and the 6-hour tailgate at the stadium.
Besides being able to register for the reunion, this site will also enable you to purchase
additional class and Navy memorabilia that is beyond the package included in your registration
fee, via our online Class Store, http://www.usnaclasstore.com/70store.html. Currently, the
memorabilia package included in with registration includes a ball cap for classmates, a visor for
spouses/guests/significant others, and a handsome multi-purpose tote bag.
As we have done in the past, we are planning a reception Thursday afternoon to kick off the
reunion festivities. As you know, we have held this event at the Sailing Center with great
success; however, we are concerned about the weather in October and are investigating other
potential venues as a hedge against Mother Nature. As soon as we have confirmed the site
we'll let you know....but do plan on attending a reception late Thursday afternoon. The ending
time will allow companies to have their own get-togethers.
Friday will include the same panoply of activities as before including a Superintendent’s briefing,
a dress parade, and our normal dinner dance at Loews. We will again have a class trivia quiz,
and we need your input as to which persons should be invited as class guests to the dinner. As
with the 40th reunion, there will be gluten-free options at the Friday dinner and Saturday

tailgate. Let your company rep know if there are other dietary requirements besides gluten-free.
If you want to bring, in addition to your “plus one,” additional guests to any of the events,
especially the dinner dance, (or grandkids to the tailgate) we will NEED to know beforehand.
Please indicate additional attendance via the online Registration form when you register.
Check the official schedule on our Class Website for the bike ride, golf, city tours, etc. You can
sign up for every event, save the golf tournament, on this online site. For golf, kindly send an
email to Marty Carpenter, [email protected], and send him a $70 check directly.
Saturday’s schedule will include a Class meeting and Memorial Service at Loews and a major
tailgate at the Class of 1953 pavilion at the stadium before and during the football game against
Tulane. You will have to get your own tickets from the NAAA. Follow the instructions found on
this site to order tickets in the class section. Buses will be provided for the game and all other
reunion events.
Sunday will include normal USNA church services and an early close to afford more time for
company get-togethers.
While much planning has gone on, some details are still being finalized, and may be subject to
change. If you have additional ideas or thoughts, please contact me ASAP. Again, this note is to
remind you of this upcoming event, to alert you to the details, and to solicit your input into the
planning details. If you have any questions, please refer to our Class Website, which will be kept
current to provide the latest reunion status.

The Class of 1970 45th Reunion registration is being handled by the USNA Alumni
Association. For classmates that have an account in the Online Community at the Alumni
Association website, please visit the USNAAA website and log into your account (see prompt at
bottom of this page). If you do not have an account in the Online Community, please go to the
USNAAA website and click on "SIGN IN" in the upper right corner. In the Login page that
comes up, click on "New User Registration" under the Username and Password entry blocks.
Then follow the prompts to provide the data required to set up an account (you are not joining
the Alumni Association). If you are not sure if you have an account, then contact Online
Community and they will be happy to check for you!
If you have an account but do not remember your user name and/or password and have the
same email address as when the account was set up you can submit a request online to
retrieve your username and/or password.
If your email address has changed, PLEASE DO NOT SET UP ANOTHER ACCOUNT. Instead,
contact the Alumni Association and they will be happy to look up your user name and password
so that you can access your account to register for the reunion and update your contact
information. Please email Online Community for user name and password look up.
Once signed in, click on "My Account" in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Click
on "Update Your Profile" to update your contact information, and then click on military
salutation to update your current rank or civilian status, followed by updating Class Mail so that
your class officers can continue to communicate with you.
To access the reunion registration link on the new website please click on the "Find My
Class" link under "Stay Connected" (there also is a "Classes" link in the bottom left hand
corner), select your class year from the drop down menu. Once on your class page, click on
the "Events" tab, and you will see the link to the registration. If you are unable to see the
Events tab, try accessing the USNA Alumni Association web site using Mozilla Fox Fire or
Chrome.

Class of 1970 45th Reunion Pricing
In response to feedback our Company Representatives for this reunion, the Class of '70 45th
Reunion events can be selected "à la carte" during the Online Registration process.
Selectable events include the following.
A Mandatory Registration Fee ($60 per adult) is required to cover the costs for free transportation
all weekend, memorabilia (Ball Cap, Visor and bag), name tags, credit card usage fees and related
overhead costs. The Registration Fee is required regardless of how many events are selected.
Class Reception, Dinner Dance, Tailgate and $60 Registration Fee: $270 per adult
The Thursday Class Reception :$45 per person
The Friday Dinner Dance: $95 per person
The Saturday tailgate: $70 per adult, $35 if under 21 and free for children 10 and under
Friday Trolley and Walking Tours: $17 per person
Friday Golf Outing: $70 per person paid separately to Marty Carpenter
Friday Bicycle Ride: Rental fees paid separately
The prices provided above are effective from 17 March 2015 through 1 August 2015.
When you register, you need to check all the events you are going to attend. This includes the above
items plus other events such as the Class Meeting and Memorial Service. The reason for everyone
to sign up for the events is so we have adequate seating for the Class Meeting and Memorial
Service at Loews Annapolis Hotel. Signing up for the Thursday reception is critical to determine
the reception venue and because some may not arrive in time to attend this event. We expect most
everyone that registers will be at the Dinner Dance and Tailgate.
We plan on seating everyone together by company for the Dinner Dance on Friday evening.
However, since the tables are limited to 8 to 12 people, it may not be possible to seat everyone from
the same company together at the same tables. We'll do our best to make that happen, but we need
to use all of the space available at Loews Annapolis Hotel for the dinner. We will be asking the
company representative to help us coordinate the seating for your company with the Dinner Dance
Subcommittee. In some limited cases, sister companies may need to share tables. Your patience
and understanding is appreciated.
-------------------------------------------------------In order to control costs and determine attendance as soon as possible the Registration Cost
will increase to $85 effective 2 August 2015. Event prices remain the same. Costs are as
follows:
Total for Class Reception, Dinner Dance, Tailgate and Registration Fee: $295 per adult
The Thursday Class Reception: $45 per person
The Friday Dinner Dance: $95 per person
The Saturday tailgate: $70 per adult, $35 if under 21 and free for children 10 and under

These prices will be effective through 01 October 2015.
Credit Card Refunds are available until 01 September 2015.
Registration after 01 October 2015 through 19 October 2015 is still possible online. However, you
may not get the Memorabilia or a personalized name tag. Event prices are also raised.

Online Registration closes at 1700 on 19 October 2015.

each Event starting Thursday, 22 October 2015. However, you may not get the Memorabilia and
will only receive a paper name tag.
The cost per event is determined by the event cost and a prorated percentage of the late registration
fee.
Registration at the Loews Annapolis Hotel Hospitality Suite or an Event will be Cash or Check
made out to "USNAAA CL70".
Costs per Event are:
The Thursday Class Reception: $70 per person
The Friday Dinner Dance: $148 per person
The Saturday tailgate: $109 per adult, $54 if under 21 and free for children 10 and under. A football
ticket is required to get to the '53 Pavilion, where the tailgate is held.

Class of 1970 45th Reunion Bicycle Ride

Ride starts at 0800 on Friday 23 October 2015 at Pedal Pushers Bike Shop, 546
Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD 21146, phone 410-544-2323.
Ride lengths are optional but all will be on the Baltimore & Annapolis (B&A) Bike Path,
starting behind the bike shop. Out and back course going north along the bike path and
turning around based on individual desires to a maximum of about 40 miles on the B&A
and including the BWI bike loop around the airport and returning to the bike shop. There
will be refreshments and light snacks both before and after the ride.
There is no cost if classmates/spouses bring their own bike and helmet.
There is a bike/helmet rental fee of $25 paid directly to the bike shop for those that
desire to rent a bike/helmet for the day. Rental bikes are hybrid bikes with regular
pedals.
Classmates are requested to fill out the bike ride attendance form indicating number of
riders, number of rental bikes/helmets required, or if you plan on riding your own bike.

Format and Rules
USGA Rules of Golf govern play. 18 holes of individual stroke play, gross and net
scores. 100% course handicap. Field divided into flights based upon handicap. Gross
and net winners in each flight. Number of flights based upon the number of participants
and the handicap spread.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for the low gross score and low net score in each flight. Ties are
broken on the score card using the USGA recommended method.
Foursomes
Foursomes will be based upon flights OR by requested groupings. Inter-flight pairings
are fine.

Sign-ups for the tailgate and ticket ordering will be included on the Class of 1970 Website.
Everyone must have a ticket to the stadium to access the tailgate at the ’53 Pavilion. Tickets
may be ordered as follows:

If the "Navy Football 2015 Buy Season Tickets on Sale Now" page is displayed, click on the
"Click Here to Purchase Tickets" at the lower right of the page.
Place your cursor over the "Buy Tickets" Link on the upper left of the gold menu bar.
Click on the Promotion Codes Drop Down
Enter 1970 in the promotional code box
When the Tulane Game appears, click on the "Find Tickets" button.
Enter Quantity of tickets needed and click on the "ADD TO CART" button to continue through
