Greetings Life Time Tri South Beach Athletes,
Thank you for racing with us! We are excited to bring you what we hope to be the
best weekend of triathlon you’ll ever experience; regardless of your standing within
the sport of triathlon, from the newbie to the athlete who’s finished every South
Beach Triathlon to date. If you’re a newbie, welcome to the family. And if you’ve
been with us for previous South Beach or Life Time Tri events, welcome back.
This event features a unique Classic distance event coupled with an International
distance triathlon. Both begin with an amazing salt water swim off the shores
of beautiful South Beach before taking you on a one-of-a-kind tour through the
streets and past the unique sites that only Miami has to offer. The course provides
athletes with phenomenal views of South Beach and the surrounding area as well
as a spectator-friendly viewing area that’s perfectly designed to watch the race
unfold as professional and age group athletes compete throughout the day.
We are thrilled to be able to present an amazing pro field that includes Olympians,
world champions and some of the best short course athletes in the world. We
are also excited to announce that there will be many national and international
celebrities racing shoulder to shoulder with you throughout the day.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would like to thank all fundraising participants
for your time and efforts. You make a real difference and help us to continue our
mission of finding cures and saving children everywhere. To date, $1.5 million has
been raised for the children of St. Jude through the South Beach Triathlon.
There are only a few days left before the event is upon you so be sure to rest,
hydrate and get ready to race with your friends and family! The forecast calls
for perfect racing weather with cool temperatures and lots of sunshine. Water
temperatures are hovering right around 78 degrees.
Finally, thank you to the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority for the
endless support. Also, please take a minute out of your day to thank all the
fantastic volunteers on the course that are the key ingredient to making Life Time
Tri South Beach both a safe, successful and memorable event! Have a great race!
Best Regards,
Life Time Athletic Events

TIPS FOR SPECTATORS
• The South Beach Triathlon begins with an ocean swim in the beautiful, warm
water (expected water temperature is 78 degrees) that runs parallel to worldfamous South Beach. The bike course will be relatively flat, crossing over Miami
Beach’s famous Causeways with scenic views of the Intracoastal Waterway,
downtown Miami and Miami Beach. The run course will be a fast out and back
alongside Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, finishing on the white sands of
South Beach.
• Parking can be found in parking garages up and down Collins Ave and
Washington Ave. Garages between 5th and 9th are the closest option to the
packet pickup/expo/transition/finish areas. Parking in these garages can run 20
dollars to 30 dollars a day. If you are a visitor we recommend staying in a South
Beach hotel, using hotel shuttle service to hotel then riding your bike or a rental
bike around the South Beach area as all amenities needed are much more
convenient to walk or bike to once you are in the area.
• Roads close at 6:30am, please plan accordingly.
• It will be hot! Please stay hydrated and take water/fluids when available on course.
• First aid is available at the north end of the Finish Festival area, near the finish
line and at the Medical Tent near the Swim In area of transition.
• See map for detailed information of the race site.
• Take caution if crossing the bike or running courses and always allow triathletes
the right of way.
• Parents, please keep a close eye on your children. The race site and course are
busy and potentially dangerous areas.
• Animals can be distracting to athletes. Please leave pets at home.
PHOTOS – Chronotrack will be taking pictures throughout the day. Photos will
be available on our website, post-race.
