This congregation started as a North American Mission Board church plant. Under my leadership this flock has grown from a small group of 27 believers to over 340 in membership. I guided this flock through two capital funds campaigns, a major land purchase, and two building campaigns. Also, I have lead the congregation to hire multiple staff (of Eight personnel) while at the same time adding two additional worship services on a Sunday morning to accommodate our growth. The following highlights the main responsibilities of my position. Worship Services -Prepare sermons and oversee worship experiences that lead both guests and members into life- changing encounters with God -Ensure that each service is biblically sound, media-enhanced, and guest sensitive Discipleship -Oversee all elements of discipleship, including curriculum and leadership at all levels -Guide the Associate Pastor in recruiting leaders for Sunday School & small groups -Assist the Associate Pastor in reviewing all curriculum for doctrine and effectiveness Executive Leadership -Provide pastoral vision and direction for church's future -Chair the Leadership Team, which functions as a representative elder board -Mentor staff -Direct volunteer leaders of the church -Ensure appropriate communication between Team and congregation -Provide a coaching-type relationship for a paid staff of eight -Conduct semi-annual employment reviews for all paid staff Pastoral Counseling -Provide pre-marital, marital and family counseling for members, attenders and prospects Outreach & Advertising -Promote seasonal activities focused on reaching unchurched and dechurched people -Create a positive public image through a variety of advertising outlets Senior Pastor Hickory Baptist Church - Hickory, Kentucky 2000 to 2001 As Pastor I took care of the pulpit responsibilities for all Sunday and Wednesday night services and oversaw the main areas of children, youth, and adult discipleship. I successfully implemented the F.A.I.T.H. visitation program and gave guidance to the deacon board. I helped oversee a food bank ministry, strategically using this benevolence ministry as an outreach tool. I provided management for the part-time staff including a worship leader and custodian. Youth Minister Sagamore Hill Baptist Church - Fort Worth, Texas 1997 to 2000 I was tasked with leading all areas of an urban youth ministry which included discipleship programs, outreach events, attracting and training a full slate of volunteers, and providing leadership for a youth praise team. I executed these duties faithfully while being a devoted husband and a full time student at the Master's level. Youth Minister / Associate Pastor Sedalia Baptist Church - Sedalia , Kentucky 1993-1996 I provided leadership for the youth and children's ministry by developing discipleship programs, fellowship-building experiences, and key outreach events. I was called upon the fill the pulpit in the Senior Pastor's absence. Secular Work Experience: Lead Chaplain Marketplace Ministries 2003 to present I am responsible for leading a team of five workplace chaplains to grant pastoral care for employees of a poultry processing operation (Pilgrims). This team and I give pastoral care to well over 1,300 employees. I help recruit, train, and orient each chaplain and also serve as Marketplace Ministry's liaison between the upper level management of the Pilgrim's Plant and the management of Marketplace. In addition, I make work site visits with employees, building rapport and providing pastoral advice and spiritual guidance when needed. Weapon, Communications and Night Vision Specialist United States Army 1990 1993 With classified and secret security clearances I oversaw the upper level maintenance of weapons, communications and night vision equipment for a light infantry unit. I received specialized training for this position, ensuring the combat readiness for four platoons. I was eventually selected as our company commander's Communication Specialist and was recognized with several awards for my service to the United States Army.
