Social responsibility through digital stories in the third edition of the international training course NGOs Communication Camp 27-05-2015, Păuleşti – 32 European young people from non-profit organizations will explore during 12 days new techniques for activating creativity, storytelling and personal branding in the international training "NGOs Communication Camp -3rd Edition". The project was funded through Erasmus + Programme and aims to develop a set of digital and entrepreneurial skills and knowledge through nonformal education methods and exchange of best practices between communication specialists present at the workshop. The third edition will be implemented from 27th of May until 8th of June in Păuleşti, Prahova County and is the initiative of the DGT Association and seven non-profit organizations from Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, Poland and Hungary. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with new techniques to promote their social projects and youth policy through specific briefs as those from communication and advertising agencies. Thus, they may propose coherent communication strategy and CSR projects that meet the needs of communication departments, public authorities or private companies it whom they work with. "The project already has a tradition and so far we have managed to train 50 young people actively involved in 27 European non-profit organizations in implementing projects of civil society development. The third edition responds to their needs to find new tools and digital storytelling techniques that can effectively promote their projects and campaigns, " said Emilia Radu, NGOs Communication Camp project coordinator. "We want to encourage NGOs to invest more in building and strengthening their communication departments, training young people. The first edition of the project was also the first European initiative of this kind, training the professionals in non-profit communication through non-formal education methods. We are happy to note that more communication agencies and creative boutiques have multiplied the project idea at European level ", added Emilia Radu. The participants will experience effective techniques for activating creativity as 6-3-5, 6 thinking hats and lotus blossom, and under the guidance of trainers, they will discover how they can become digital storytellers or how they can build their personal brand. Moreover, they will contribute to the development of ngocommunicationcamp.weebly.com, the official project platform, a space where NGOs can access free communication guides, non-formal education methods, presentations about PR, brand identity, web design, social media and back-pack journalism. At the end of the training, eight European organizations and 32 young people will update their know-how, increase the visibility of their projects and will receive a Youthpass certificate, from European Commission that certifies their skills acquired during the 12 days of interactive sessions. Long term, the project is a warning for all NGOs who need to update their communication strategy and to align the practices according to the digital age. D.G.T. Association is a non-governmental organization founded in March 2011 by a group of young people with experience in international exchanges and training co-financed by the European Commission through Erasmus + program. The mission of the association focuses on creating a national and international network of young people, youth workers, trainers and teachers of different nationalities and backgrounds. This network, Do Great Things and friends all over the world tackles topics of social interest such as communication, ecology, climate change, sustainable development and European citizenship through non-formal education methods.
