Bow Valley Freestyle Spring Spectacular Club Event
March 20-22, 2015
Bow Valley Freestyle Ski Club and Banff Mt. Norquay are pleased to invite athletes and
coaches to attend a Spring Club Mogul and Slope-style Competition at Banff Mt. Norquay on
March 20-22, 2015.
This event is open to athletes aged 8 years and over. This is a CFSA sanctioned event and all
participants must have a current CFSA registration with a Can Free 1&2 license or higher.
There is a cap of 100 athletes for this event. Athlete fee is $75 for both events or $40 for one
event.
Friday, March 20th we’ll have our mogul venue that recently held the ATB Tour Provincial #3
open for training. The Mogul event will be held Saturday, March 21, and Slope-style on Sunday,
March 22. We will also be hosting a banquet in the Norquay Daylodge Saturday, March 21 from
5:30-7:30pm.
Both moguls and slope-style will use a 3-judge panel, moguls will use the “Aussie Rules” format,
and Slope-style will be judged on overall impression.
Clubs are kindly asked to submit payment with one check per club made payable to Bow Valley
Freestyle Ski Club. Bibs are available with a deposit of $20, however, you are also free to use
your club bibs, please provide the bib #s in the registration form.
Please complete a Bio Sheet (below) for each athlete and have it ready for submission
when you pick up your bibs at the Registration desk in the Day Lodge.

Friday: Competitor Course Training
Saturday: Moguls – Aussie Rules format – best of 2 runs
Sunday: Slope-style – overall impression - best of 2 runs
Event Cancellation
If an event is cancelled each athlete registered will be refunded all but $30 of the entry fee.
This is because the organizing committee still needs to pay the officials a portion of their
compensation.
Injury Refund
Should an athlete get injured during official training for the event and cannot compete, the
athlete will be refunded everything except a $30 administration fee. An injury refund request
must be accompanied by a CFSA accident report from the coach. Requests for refunds for
other extraordinary circumstances will be considered at the discretion of the organizing
committee.
Liability and Accident Insurance
All athletes, officials and other members who attend and participate in the event shall do so
at their own risk. Competitors are required to have his/her own medical and life insurance
and a valid CFSA competitor license. The organizing committee, Bow Valley Freestyle Ski
Club, Banff Mount Norquay, the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association, and the Canadian
Freestyle Ski Association shall not be responsible for accidents, damaged equipment and/or
second or third party claims during the staging of the event.
Lift Tickets
Banff Mt. Norquay has graciously extended athlete and Coach pricing as follows:
Adult (age 18+) - $55 + gst
Youth (age 13-17) - $41 + gst
Child (age 6-12) - $25 + gst
Banquet and Medals Presentation
Banquet tickets are $20 per person, this price is still tentative.
The banquet will be held in the Norquay Daylodge Saturday, March 21st.

Success of all events through the season depends on volunteers. If you would to help us
out during the event, please contact Angele Belsham at [email protected] Volunteers are
needed for course prep/work, misc. Volunteer lift tickets and lunch will be provided,
volunteer must be on skis.
