This will be an outstanding opportunity to learn about several hot energy
topics, while visiting dozens of AEE-NE Sponsors trade show booths.
Admission includes access to the seminars, the trade show, and a buffet

AEE-NE offers $1,000 scholarships to college students studying
engineering, facilities management, or related fields. Students must get

Industrial Energy Advisor – Rhode Island and Massachusetts
Leidos, a Fortune 500 company, seeks an Industrial Energy Advisor to
both market and support energy-efficiency projects with large industrial
businesses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This exciting position offers a
very unique career opportunity for a dynamic person with excellent outreach,
sales, communication and organizational skills to promote energy efficiency
projects to large industrial customers. The person in this position broadly
markets a successful utility program to large industrial customers and will
require the ability to identify efficiency opportunities, calculate energy
savings, maintain customer relationships, and deliver presentations. The
candidate should have basic general knowledge of building systems,
industrial systems, construction practices, and/or the energy efficiency
industry. Must be highly motivated, well organized, self-starting, have strong
written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team
setting. Experience as an Industrial Energy Manager is desired.
Qualifications
Must be able to utilize initiative to develop relationships with industrial
customers and vendors, and demonstrate knowledge of energy efficiency
technologies and practices. Industrial experience and an engineering degree
is highly preferred. The ability to be self- motivated and work within a team
is critical to be successful for this work. This position requires a valid
driver’s license and physical ability to perform energy audits and field
verifications of the installation of energy efficiency measures.
Education
Four-year degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience such as with
energy programs, utility account representation, or in
manufacturing. Excellent written and verbal communications are
essential. Industrial experience and an engineering degree is preferred.

Basic Energy Auditing (hands-on approach)
Target student: A field engineer, junior energy auditor or accomplished
residential energy auditor aiming to become proficient in auditing large
commercial and institutional facilities.
This course introduces the student to the wide variety of energy using
systems found in large commercial and institutional facilities. This 16-hour
course will cover components that make up the various systems; how they
work, how they are controlled, and the many ways in which energy
consumption can be reduced. Energy using systems to be studied include:
HVAC systems, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, lighting, fans, pumps,
motors, etc. This class dovetails into Advanced Energy Auditing, where
calculation methodologies are taught. This class will grant 16 PDHs or 1.6
CEUs. (16 hours), 4p-6p Tuesdays starting 3/24/15, $499

Advanced Energy Auditing (analytical approach)
Target student: Senior or junior energy auditor that needs to develop
necessary analytical skills to calculate energy savings for large commercial
and institutional facilities.
The course will cover data manipulation and analyses techniques that are
necessary to calculate energy savings that are acceptable to utilities for a wide
variety of energy conservation measures (Envelope, DHW, Water, Motors,
VFDs, HVAC, Fan, Pumps, Chillers, Boilers, Lighting, etc.). Detailed
analyses of weather data and utility billing, including interval data, will be
included. VBA macros will be provided and developed in class. Simple
analysis techniques (such as using degree days) will be reviewed as well as
detailed bin tables with regression analyses. To get the most from this class
each student will need to bring a laptop computer with Excel loaded (Excel
2010 or higher is necessary to take full advantage of the class, although not a
lot will be missed if earlier versions of Excel are used.). This class will grant
16 PDHs or 1.6 CEUs. (16 hours), 7p-9p Tuesdays starting 3/24/15, $499
