DEAR MEMBER:
SPRING 2015
LOOKS LIKE SPRING BEGAN EARLY THIS YEAR!
The road into the Gun Club remained open all winter although very muddy! The range has been used quite a bit
this past winter however it has left the road a bit uneven. Hopefully this will be graded before the shoots.
.
Dues are now payable for the year 2015, Individuals are $20.00, Families, $40.00, this includes all children 19
years of age and under. Remember, the membership year span is from May 2015 to May 2016.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Spring Cleanup and General Meeting Sat, May 23rd (or alternate, Sat, June 20th)
Spring Cleaning will begin at 8:00 am. Please bring a rake, pitchfork or wheelbarrow
as there are always lots of pine needles and debris. Anyone with a truck or trailer would
be welcome to help haul away the needles, etc. Water and refreshments will be
provided.
General Meeting will begin around 10:00 am. Please try to attend!
NEW BUSINESS:
Seems there are many youth in the area that take the rifle safety class so we thought perhaps we could offer a
Youth Rifle Club. Can you spearhead a Youth Rifle Club? The responsibilities are light; schedule a shoot once
a month, perhaps a competition with Susanville Youth Rifle Club or with other groups. Exciting Prizes!!
Please call Mark Jimenez @ 530-596-3072 or Diana Long @ 530-259-4536.
New Shoot Offers: Marty has added a new rifle shoot this season, “Rattle Battle” Shoot. One engages
various targets off hand from 50 to 150 yards, with one magazine. A match will consist of 10 rounds with a
mandatory magazine change. The WR&PC will also be offering a “Pistol Range Day”, once a month and
supervised by a Range Master. Review Schedule for days and times.
We need your help! Sporting Clay’s Shoots require many steps; targets, traps and hulls, clean up, etc. If you
would please come out and assist the Sporting Clays event and you will be rewarded for your time and service.
Our insurance company is how requesting that all shooters complete one or both of the attached forms, Waiver
& Release and/or Indemnification. Please return to us ASAP. Forms will be available at the shoots.
Clean Up Day: We still need a volunteer or more to agree to clean the shooting area for the month of June and
September. If you can help, please call Diana @ 530-259-4536 or Phyllis @ 530-596-4116.
Keeping up with the Gun Club: Residents of Almanor Basin can catch up on all the news on Channel 6 or visit
our web site; www.alhooprange.org. Soon to be available; Westwood Rifle & Pistol Club on the Chester
