Welcome back to Term 2. We hope you have had an enjoyable break and are ready to get back into dancing and
working towards sitting your exam(s) in August.
Classes continue as normal through the July School Holidays.
Classes that DO NOT continue through the July School Holidays are:
Mini Movers
Pre-Intro Jazz
Stretch, Leap and Spin class
Term 2 for Exam Classes ends at the end of the first week of the School Holidays and Term 3 starts the second week of
the School Holidays:

There will be a studio break for most classes after dancers have sat their exams – we will notify you of when this will be
once we have received confirmed exam dates from our Affiliations.
NO CLASSES ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
There will be NO CLASSES on Monday 27th April – ANZAC Day Observed and Monday 01st June 2015 – Queens Birthday.
UNIFORMS
Uniforms are compulsory for all exam classes from Term 2 through to exams – NO EXCEPTIONS. Items will be issued in
class as they arrive from our suppliers. Many items will be issued during the first week of term.
If you have not yet ordered your uniform, please contact Tracy in the Office ASAP. We hold limited stock of the uniform
so will fulfill orders where possible. Hair is to be tied up and worn off the face during class. Appropriate footwear is to
be worn.
DANCE EXAMS
Syllabus exams are compulsory for all dancers enrolled in an exam class with AMJAZZ Dance Studios.
Information about exam fees for Hip Hop and Jazz has already been issued via email or in class to dancers. Please ensure
you have been given this notice from your dancer.
Information about Tap, Advanced Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet exams will be issued during Term 2.
LATE EXAM ENTRIES: All of our Dance Affiliations have requested that Late Exam Entries only be accepted from Dancers
in certain circumstances – i.e. Intermediate / Advanced Dancers being assessed and / or dancers with injuries.
All dancers are expected to enter for exams by the dates listed below. If you are considering entering as a late entry,
please discuss this with Pam or Nikki ASAP.

exams will be given out once we have received the information from the appropriate affiliation.

INFORMATION UPDATE
Please advise us if you have moved house or changed contact phone numbers or email so we can keep our records up to
date.
WINTER IS HERE
As the weather is getting colder it is important for all dancers to warm themselves up before coming into their classes.
Remember; a tight / fitted long sleeved top is permitted to be worn over uniforms to keep warm. If you have a longsleeved top you would like to have the AMJAZZ Logo printed on, please give this to Nikki with a note pinned to it with
your name and a request to have it printed. Printing is $12 per top. AMJAZZ also sells cross over dance cardigans that
are perfect for winter.
If dancers are waiting to be picked up after class, please ensure your dancer waits inside the waiting room. Once they
leave the building we assume that they have been collected. Please also ensure you know your dancers’ class finish time
and be prompt to collect them if there is no class after theirs.
FUNDRAISERS
At the end of Term 1, our Entertainment Book Fundraiser began; Books are still available to pre-order. Order online via
our Payment Page - https://www.entertainmentbook.co.nz/orderbooks/15482y2 . Books will be available in class
after they are released on the 30th April 2015. Thank you to the families that have already supported us for this
fundraiser. In Term 2 we will have our annual Cadbury Chocolate Fundraiser. Dancers will be issued with an information
form and a slip to return if you are NOT interested in participating.
MINI MOVERS CUSHION CONCERT
Our annual Mini Movers Cushion Concert will be held in Studio 1 at the AMJAZZ Dance Studios on Friday 26th June
2015. The concert will start at 6.00pm. There will be food available – Sausages, American hotdogs, drinks, lollies, fudge our Senior Performance class will be fundraising for their trip to Disney Land in April 2016!
Mini Movers Dancers will receive a Cushion Concert Participation Notice in class this term.
Mark the date on your calendar and invite your family and friends to come along and watch your dancer perform.
Audience members will need to bring a cushion to sit on and wear their best socks as shoes are not permitted on the
Dance Floor! There is no cost to watch the show. Don’t forget your smile and have a heap of fun!
CONGRATULATIONS…..
Congratulations to our Senior Performance Class who have had formal notification from Disney Land that their Audition
to dance at Disney Land in April 2016 has been successful. This group has been working hard to raise funds for their trip
over the last month. A grand total of approximately $80,000 is required to be raised, but the first goal is to pay the
deposit of $6900 which is due at the end of May!

Clothes Swap – Saturday 02nd May 2015 between 2pm and 5pm at the AMJAZZ Dance Studios
Garage Sale – Saturday 09th May 2015 from 8am at the AMJAZZ Dance Studios

This is a huge task and the more help we can get the better!!
BABY WEARING CLASSES
If you, or someone you know, are interested in a mums and bubs ‘baby wearing’ exercise class, please email Jane Trask
on [email protected] or call / text her on 021-834771. Classes will be held during a weekday and will cost
approx. $8 per class, held during the School Term. Check out the Rotorua Baby wearers Group on Facebook. Mums must
supply their own baby carriers which must be safe and supportive for their babies
