DISASTER & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT anzdmc.com.au REGISTRATION Australian & New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference 3 – 5 May 2015 I Jupiters Gold Coast In association with Registration Brochure Australian & New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference DISASTER & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 3 – 5 May 2015 • Jupiters Gold Coast INVITATION TO ATTEND Join me in 2015 for what has now become a premier disaster and emergency management conference for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond – the Australian & New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference (ANZDMC). Last year our conference attracted more than 400 delegates and received abstract and poster submissions from 18 countries; a sure sign that our approach to delivering an inclusive, engaging and contemporary program is a successful one. In keeping with this approach, 2015 will be no different and will include a focus on research whilst maintaining an interest on showcasing contemporary innovation and approaches to disaster and emergency management. One of the strengths of the ANZDMC is its broad applicability to a wider range of the disaster and emergency management community; this includes and is not limited to health, welfare, maritime, volunteers, fire, search and rescue and law enforcement. With the ever-increasing nature of larger-scale disasters and emergencies impacting our communities and a renewed focus on catastrophic planning, the ANZDMC is an ideal and appropriate conference to come together to share innovative practice, understand emerging research themes and discuss collective challenges with a view to improving our planning for, response to and recovery from emergencies and disasters. Associate Professor Brett Aimers Conference Co-Chair Chief Professional Officer, St John Ambulance Australia THE CONFERENCE The Australian & New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference will be held at Jupiters Gold Coast on the 3 – 5 May 2015. This international event brings together key stakeholders involved in the prevention, management and recovery of major disastrous events, a forum to examine the issues surrounding natural and man-made hazards. The theme of “EARTH; FIRE AND RAIN” will provide a dynamic and topical program and discuss a vast range of subject including emergency management, public safety, security, community resilience, business continuity, data protection and much more. There will be multiple streams and informative workshops as well as an all-encompassing exhibition showcasing equipment, products, services and solutions. The conference is an outstanding platform for education and to initiate new business relationships – it is not to be missed by anyone involved in emergency management and disaster response and recovery.
