CONTEMPORARY MANAGEMENT OF GYNAECOLOGICAL CANCER ANZGOG 2015 ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING Celebrating 15 years of ANZGOG WORKSHOPS WEDNESDAY, 25th MARCH Time Session Location 1.30pm-5.30pm Study Coordinators Workshop Process Mapping and Systems Development PRESENTED BY: WANDA LAWSON Paradise Room 1 This will be a skills development workshop for study coordinators and data managers. The workshop this year will focus on Process Mapping and Systems Development to upskill and support participants to identify and develop efficient and effective work systems in their sites. FRIDAY, 27th MARCH Time Session Location 2.00pm-5.30pm GCP Training Workshop PRESENTED BY: ELEANOR ALLAN, Caledonian Clinical Training This training is open to investigators and research coordinators (data managers, study coordinators and nurses). Level 23 Many sponsors require that trial research staff renew their Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification every 2 years. The GCP training will be conducted by a TransCelerate accredited trainer and meets the Minimum Criteria for ‘ICH GCP Investigator Site Personnel Training’ identified by TransCelerate BioPharma as necessary to enable mutual recognition of GCP training among trial sponsors. This means that all sponsors that subscribe to the Transcelerate process will accept the GCP training and site personnel will not have to repeat the training. A Certificate of Completion will be presented to participants at the end of the workshop. The course will focus on the application of GCP in your daily work with practical case studies, workshops and discussions. Attendees will gain a good understanding of the rationale behind GCP requirements and how to interpret those areas of GCP that are open to interpretation. The course will include discussion on how compliance with GCP can be achieved as efficiently as possible. 2.00pm-5.30pm Concept Development Workshop PRESENTED BY: MARTIN STOCKLER & LINDA MILESHKIN The aim of this workshop is to provide information and guidance about how to develop an initial idea or clinical question into a formal research proposal (concept outline), plus tips on developing funding strategies and applications. Attendees should come prepared to discuss their own idea for a clinical research study. Ideally, this means making a start on completing a standard template for a concept outline, as attached. Attendees should also be prepared to give a seven minute presentation about their idea, including a (very) brief background and rationale (three minutes); proposed aim, objectives (and enpdoints), design, target population, sample size (rough). Attendees should also identify what they need the most help with from the assembled faculty. 16 AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND GYNAECOLOGICAL ONCOLOGY GROUP Ballroom Level 1 CONTEMPORARY MANAGEMENT OF GYNAECOLOGICAL CANCER ANZGOG 2015 ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING Celebrating 15 years of ANZGOG WORKSHOPS Time Session Location 2.00pm-5.30pm Radiation Oncology Workshop Inaugural meeting of the Gynae-Oncology Special Interest Group CONVENORS: PEARLY KHAW & LISA SULLIVAN Level 23 This Workshop will form the inaugural meeting for the Gynae-Oncology Special Interest Group (Cool, catchy name to be decided at workshop!). The ANZGOG conference Radiation Oncology Workshop seems an optimal time to begin discussion and formation of this group. Your attendance at this meeting is sought to formulate what is important to us and how best to highlight our services. As we are not just mere technicians, it is also an opportunity for us to look at how radiation oncology contributes to further research in gynae-oncology and how we can increase our profile within Australasia and internationally. Through the efforts of Dr Rebecca Chin and Pearly Khaw, details have been sought from RANZCR about the requirements for the formation of this tumour-specific group. 2.00pm-5.30pm Gynae Special Interest Group Nurses Meeting CONVENOR: ANNE MELLON Level 23 Topics covered during this workshop include: - NICOLE KINNANE: Survivorship in Gynaecological Cancer - the nurses role - ALISON EVANS: ANZGOG Research idea development and process - CATH ADAMS: Psychological issues in gynaecological cancer - the nurses role These presentations will be followed by a CNSA GynSPN Meeting. 2.30pm-5.30pm Consumer Workshops Chevron Room Chemotheraphy 101 and the concurrent use of chemotherapy with radiation PRESENTED BY: MICHELLE HARRISON Following on from the Radiotherapy 101 session presented by David Bernshaw at the 2014 AGM, this session will cover: -What is chemotherapy -Effects of chemotherapy -When and why is chemotherapy is chosen as a treatment for gynae cancer -Chemotherapy & radiotherapy as a combined treatment Consultation: The National Framework for Gynaecological Cancer Control FACILITATED BY: WAYNE KINRADE, Managing Director, Healthcare Management Advisors (HMA) Growing underlying need, along with the desire to improve the quality of care and outcomes of cancer treatment, led to a decision by Cancer Australia to develop a framework to guide directions in gynaecological cancer control over the next five years. During this session Healthcare Management Advisors (HMA) will consult with ANZGOG’s Consumer group to ascertain what they see as the priorities in gynaecological cancer control. Study concept development session FACILITATED BY: CATH ADAMS This workshop will further explore and refine the theme for the CCC study with the aim to agree on the study topic and summarise it into a one sentence concept.
