85km Athlete Information Briefing Sunday 24th May IMPORTANT INFORMATION Saturday 23rd May 1.00pm- 5.00pm Subaru Cycle Noosa 85km Check In and Late Entries at Noosa Lions Park Sunday 24th May 6.45am-7.45am 8.05am 12:15pm* Subaru Cycle Noosa 85km Check In & Late Entries at Noosa Civic Shopping Centre, Noosaville START- Subaru Cycle Noosa 85km at Noosa Civic Shopping Centre, Noosaville. Subaru Cycle Noosa Random Draw Presentations at Noosa Lions Park Cycle Noosa is a participation ride and not a race. ON THE DAY On the day you will need to make your way to the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre for race start. Please see map below for instructions of how to get there from Noosa Heads or Lions Park. In your race kit you received a cycle bib number and bike frame sticker. Prior to the start of the ride please ensure: The Cycle Bib number is attached to the front of your jersey. The bib number is compulsory & must be worn at all times. The Bike Frame Sticker is to be attached to the seat post & visible on your bike. This is also your timing chip. Please ensure that the timing chip does not come in to contact with your bike seat post. Make sure your water bottles are full prior to commencing. SAFETY YOUR SAFETY and the SAFETY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS is an absolute priority. If you are experiencing difficulties, feeling unwell or see other participants who are having difficulty, you must notify event officials immediately You must ensure that you are sufficiently skilled in all aspects of the ride and have attained a relevant level of fitness to be able to complete the ride confidently. You must ensure that you are in good health and are not suffering from any illness that will cause you difficulties during the event. To assist our medical team please write any existing medical conditions or allergies in waterproof ink on your bib number in the space provided as well as an emergency contact name & phone number. REMINDERS FROM POLICE This event is not a designated time trial or road race and subsequently all riders are bound by Queensland Road Rules. Participants are reminded that when riding 2 abreast the distance between the two bikes should not be greater than 1.5 meters. Police urge riders to adopt a single file approach where possible and give due consideration to other road users to avoid incidents. There are no road closures or exemption permits associated with this event and give way rules must be observed at all intersections and roundabouts. Although the behaviour of the majority of riders in 2014 was exceptional police did intercept and caution 8 x riders for various contraventions of the road rules. As a consequence additional police will be deployed along the route in 2015 with the specific task of intercepting and issuing infringement notices to both participating riders and drivers of motor vehicles who are detected breaching any provisions of the Queensland Road Rules. If you have any queries regarding the responsibilities of riders please do not hesitate to contact organisers who, if it is required, will put you in contact with the local police liaison. FURTHER INFORMATION Timing: Although the event is timed, it is NOT A RACE. Please note, your start time will be taken from when the event starts (8.05am) and not when you cross the start line. Aid Stations: There are two aid stations on the course. Remember to take at least one full water bottle and enough food to sustain your energy levels. You must make sure you keep your energy up and stay well hydrated. Cut Off Times: 10:15am 11:45am Eumundi Aid Station (approx. 22km) Mount Coolum Aid Station (approx. 59km) Breakdowns: If you breakdown on the ride, wait in a safe spot on the side of the road for one of the roving course vehicles to arrive. They will be able to assist with basic repairs and should be able to get you mobile again. SAG wagons will collect any cyclists and bikes unable to complete the ride. After the Ride: Visit the Sport & Lifestyle Expo Sunday 7.00am – 2.00pm. Bike racks will be available to use in Festival Village, Lions Park. Please note that the security of your bike is your responsibility. COURSE MAP The course will be well signed posted and there will be event marshals on all major intersections. DIRECTIONS TO NOOSA CIVIC
