Fine Art Calendar - Juried Competition with Renata Funke, Susan Klusmire and Gordon Mayfiled

Overview
Each year, the Arts Council produces a fine art calendar that captures the stunning beauty and
extraordinary diversity of life in Monterey County. We will use the large format (11x 17) again this year.
Please note that we will select two scenes each from North County, Salinas Valley / South County,
Seaside/Marina, Monterey Peninsula, Salinas and Big Sur.
These beautiful calendars are sold at a wide variety of outlets throughout the county. All
proceeds from the entry fees and calendar sales benefit our Professional Artists in the Schools program
– providing arts education, arts-integrated curriculum and special arts and literacy workshops for
thousands of students.
Guidelines
Art Submissions will be selected by a jury of County artists and experts. They will review the quality
of work for all submissions and if these minimum standards are met, selected pieces of art will be
chosen based upon the following criteria:
1. First priority will be afforded to qualified art work depicting life and culture in Monterey
County;
2. Second priority will be afforded to qualified art work depicting the natural beauty of
Monterey County’s landscape.
3. Those that depict life, culture and natural beauty will be most highly favored.
Other considerations:
 Horizontal orientation
 Artists retain full rights to their work -- The Arts Council has promotional rights only for the
calendar itself
 Mail form and entry fee $35.00 (maximum 5 entries) to PO Box 7495, Carmel, CA 93921
Check payable to Arts Council for Monterey County
 Notification will be by phone or email by June 5, 2015

$25.00 gift certificate for art supplies

$100.00 gift certificate for art supplies
