Who We Are
We are so glad you have chosen to live on campus! The Residence Life staff
is here to help you adjust to living in community with other Auburn students
and make the most of your residential experience! Our mission is to enable
student success by creating and supporting welcoming, safe, and inclusive
residential communities. You are a vital part of our community, and we look
forward to serving you!
If you have questions throughout the semester, a Resident Assistant (RA) is
always on-duty in your neighborhood and can be reached 24 hours a day,
seven days a week via a duty phone. The duty phone numbers will be
displayed in your hall. You can also talk to a RA in person, as every
residence hall has at least two RAs.
If you need to reach a Professional Staff member, you may visit the
Residence Life office in Lucille Burton Hall on the second floor. Our office is
open Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 11:45 am and 12:45 pm to

Our Staff
Residence Life
Residence Life’s engaged and enthusiastic staff members are here to welcome you to your
new home and assist you throughout the year. Resident Assistants (RAs) are experienced
and knowledgeable students who live in your hall and are your primary contacts in the hall.
Have a question about classes, the hall, a campus tradition, or want a friend to hang out with?
Contact your RA, who will be happy to help! Teams of RAs work in “neighborhoods” in the
Hill, Quad, and Village residential areas. Cambridge and South Donahue are considered their
own neighborhoods. There is at least one on-duty RA in the neighborhood each day who
carries an on-duty phone 24/7, so they are always only a phone call away.
We also have Graduate Area Coordinators, who live in your neighborhood and supervise the
RAs. They will be at events and seen in the hall, so be sure to say hello! As graduate
students, they have a wealth of knowledge about next steps toward graduate school or a
career field. Finally, we have a professional staff team of Area Directors, an Assistant
Director, and a Director who oversee all of Residence Life and work to provide you with
quality programs and services. Residence Life professional staff members are located on the
second floor of Burton Hall.

Our mission is to create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive home for your time at Auburn. Our
alcohol-free and smoke-free residence halls provide a healthy environment for students to
live. All students are expected to adhere to our noise and visitor/guest policies in order to
maintain a safe environment that is enables students to study, sleep and socialize. All
residents are encouraged to attend events sponsored by their RAs in the hall lobby or floor
lounges. These activities connect you to students living in your hall and others on campus.
Participating in a game night or a pasta dinner is a great way to meet others in your major,
students with common hobbies, teammates for a new intramural team, and great friends! The
RAs living in your hall will be planning activities throughout the year and will happily plan
activities based on your interests! Come out to events in your hall and neighborhood, and be
ALL IN with Residence Life!

Your room is the focal point of your home while at Auburn, and we hope you give it your
personal touch. In order to maintain our halls for future Auburn students, it is important for
you to read and follow the rules for decorating your room. Before packing, contact your new
roommate or suite-mates and coordinate what each of you will be bringing. As you prep
your room, keep in mind the following items are prohibited:

Paint, wallpaper, or adhesive-backed shelf paper on the walls
Nails, screws, duct-tape, double-sided tape, or glue for wall hangings
Adjusting the door length for carpets to fit
Decals on any furniture or window
Alcohol bottles used as decorative pieces

As you are getting ready to decorate, here are things you can use to make your room
your own:
