AUGUST ORIENTATION SCHEDULE OF EVENTS PLEASE NOTE *** Indicates a mandatory program Shaded events are specialized for various groups. Check description for information. THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2015 | ALL CAMPUS OFFICES ARE OPEN FROM 8:30AM-4:30PM 8:00am-2:30pm Move In | St. Clare Court Students complete the check in process, get their room keys, and get settled prior to the start of the programs. 8:00am-2:30pm Family Lounge | 47 Lounge, Deegan West Take a break, have a snack and meet representatives from Campus Offices in the 47 Lounge while moving in! 9:00am-3:30pm Receiving Your Mack Card | Mack Card Office, 2nd Floor of the McQuade Library Students who have not yet received their Mack Card ID should go to the Mack Card Office during this time to have their identification photo taken. 9:30am-1:00pm Brunch | Sparky’s Place, Sakowich Campus Center Brunch will be prepared by the Sodexo Food Service, the college’s dining service. 2:30pm-3:30pm Merrimack Legacies | Rogers Center Lobby We honor incoming students as Legacies carrying on a proud family tradition of education at Merrimack College. A Merrimack Legacy is anyone who has a grandparent, parent, or sibling that has graduated from or is currently attending Merrimack College. RSVP to the Alumni Office is required. 3:45pm-4:15pm Opening Address | Multi-Purpose Room, Sakowich Campus Center Get a picture of the Class, listen to the Opening Address to new students and their families, receive the Class of 2019 pin, and receive a blessing for all the incoming students. Following the welcome, students will say goodbye to their families and begin Orientation events. 4:15pm-5:30pm Group Time | Sakowich Patio Orientation officially begins with all resident and off campus students reuniting with their June Orientation groups and meeting new group members. 5:30pm-6:45pm Dinner | Sparky’s Place, Sakowich Campus Center Dinner will be served and this is another great opportunity to meet some of your fellow classmates! 7:00pm-8:00pm #MackActs Part I *** | Multi-Purpose Room, Sakowich Campus Center The Office of Community Standards, our Merrimack College Police Department, Wellness Education, and Hamel Health & Counseling Center will review the policies and resources available at Merrimack College. 8:00pm-9:00pm Meet Your RA | Meet in the Warrior’s Den, Sakowich Campus Center Residential Students will meet their Resident Advisors and fellow hallmates and learn about upcoming programs and resources available to them. 8:00pm-9:00pm Commuter Social | 47 Lounge, Deegan West This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other commuter students on campus as well as enjoy some food and activities. 9:00pm-11:00pm Block Party | O’Brien Plaza Come join your fellow classmates for games, popcorn, cotton candy, sno-cones, and other fun activities! Although you will be provided with a packet of information about the college, this is your opportunity to interact with part of the Merrimack community personally and to gather any information you need. 1:00pm Transfer Student Campus Tours/ID Photos/Bookstore Students will have an opportunity to take a tour of the campus beginning with a visit to our academic buildings to assist them in finding the locations of their classes for the semester.
