About the Youth of the Year Gala
“TO INSPIRE AND ENABLE ALL YOUTH, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO NEED US MOST, TO REALIZE THEIR
FULL POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE, RESPONSIBLE AND CARING CITIZENS.”
This year marks the 68th Youth of the Year celebration; a tradition that serves as the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Delaware’s cornerstone event. It brings together individuals, corporate partners and top
leaders to celebrate our youth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s Youth of the Year is the highest
honor a Club member can achieve. The Youth of the Year program celebrates youth who have overcome
enormous odds and demonstrated exceptional character and achieved significant accomplishments.
These deserving young people are recognized for leadership, service to their Club and community,
strong academic performance and healthy lifestyles. Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that great futures start at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware!

Too often too many at-risk young people are deprived of opportunities to be better—better students, better friends, better members of society, and better role models. They are youth with unrealized potential who need someone to believe in them and give them a chance.
