Five SA companies to take part in SinoSA signing
Five innovative South Australian companies have been showcased at a gala dinner in Qingdao
as part of a heads of agreement signing that will see each company gaining a presence in
China.
Science and Information Economy Minister Gail Gago addressed the SinoSA House cocktail
and dinner function last night, which was attended by key Chinese government and industry
stakeholders, as well as representatives from South Australian companies Austofix Group
Limited, Ellex Medical Lasers Limited, Cavitus, Terra Rosa Capital and Ziltek.
Ms Gago said SinoSA, a joint initiative between the South Australian Government and
Shandong officials, will provide local companies with a greater ability to establish subsidiaries
in China.
“Over time, we hope this initiative can be expanded to include many industries which would
open up opportunities for other South Australian companies to commence operations in
Shandong and result in the creation of high value jobs,” Ms Gago said.
In October last year, Ms Gago led a delegation of education, science and industry officials in
Qingdao. That visit was reciprocated by her Chinese counterparts in March this year, during
which the State Government pledged $180,000 to support the SinoSA project.
“South Australia is an entrepreneurial state and we are forging ahead with our international
engagement, developing crucial links with emerging and expanding international markets.
“A major part of this expansion and connection is in China through SinoSA. South Australia
values its relationship with China and the establishment of SinoSA is testament to the
importance we place on this connection.”
Ms Gago said SinoSA is part of a broader plan to promote awareness of highly innovative
South Australian companies, which in turn will garner attention from international investors.
“The South Australian Government recognises the benefits of a thriving high-tech sector – it
has the power to create prosperity and employment, which then provides wider benefits to the
economy,” Ms Gago said.
Currently, six South Australian companies are in discussion to be part of the SinoSA concept,
which includes those represented at tonight’s dinner.

based in Thebarton. It advises companies on capital raising, providing access to investment capital
from China and manages its own portfolio of investee companies.

environmental consultants, industry and government agencies, remediation contractors, and
landowners. Ziltek has a range of products that can be used to treat contaminated soil, industrial byproducts, silts, sediments, mine tailings and organic residues.
