SkillsUSA is a nation-wide organization that prepares America’s high performance workers (www.skillsusa.org). Participation in these competitions is an extraordinary opportunity for the teens who compete as well as for the industry volunteers/supporters who assist with the events and donations. We are hoping we can rely on our members and friends to help us to 1.) Raise the money needed to send the top PMT student to the national competition in Kansas City, June 22-26, 2.) Supply prizes such as micrometers/verniers/Machinery Handbooks, recognition awards, and, 3.) Judge the May 1 competition by volunteering to attend and participate on our team. Last year, thanks to your generosity, we raised over $3300 in cash donations for travel to Nationals and additional prizes! Members also donated mics/verniers/tool chests and other prizes for the top performers. SkillsUSA Support Form Please complete and return ASAP but no later than April 20, 2015. I’d be honored to help the students of SkillsUSA. I will donate: 1. ____ Assistance (or my employee’s) as a volunteer at the SkillsUSA contests on May 1, 2015. The contest coordinators can really use additional volunteers to help out. It is a terrific experience and your time will be well spent with students competing at this worthwhile and important event. (Just ask members Ed Fitzgerald, Steven Tamasi, Kevin O’Donnell, Mark Merullo, and Michael Pasciuto who’ve all participated over the years!) 2. ____ Prizes We can use donations of good quality micrometers, verniers, Machinery’s Handbooks, tool chests. Items for giveaways (logoed company items such as t- shirts, hats, etc.) are also welcome. 3. ____Cash Cash donations are greatly appreciated and will be used toward: a.) CNC Contests Travel Scholarships This pays for the registration and some of the travel costs associated with participation at the national conference for the winners of the MA CNC Technician & CNC Specialists Competitions. Donations to this fund are sent directly to MA SkillsUSA and designated for the Travel Scholarship. It costs approx. $1600 for a student’s participation in the national competition in June. Any donation amount is welcomed! b.) Prizes/Awards for the winners of each contest and and runners-up. This helps us to purchase prizes like those noted above and small awards to congratulate the contest’s Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists. NOTE: BTMA would prefer that you let us designate cash donations to where they are needed the most, however if you prefer your donation be go to either the scholarship or prizes/awards, please indicate this when you list the amount of your donation, below (i.e. $200 to SkillsUSA for contest winner travel).
