Bristol County 4-H Livestock Summer Kick Off - June 20, 2015 9AM-5PM
Dear 4-H Club Leaders and Parents,
We would like to welcome all Bristol County 4-H
members and friends to join us at the 4-H Livestock
Summer Kick-off. This event is open to 4-H members
throughout the state and the public. There will be many
fun activities and demonstrations to take part in.
For those members planning to participate in jeopardy
and written tests, Please study online at
www.BristolCountyLivestock.com Placements in these
events will go toward the end of year 4-H banquet.
In the afternoon the 4-H kids will educate the public
about farm living by participating in a livestock
showmanship show or speaking to the public about
their animals. Each child is allowed to show one animal.
White shirts and white or tan pants are required in the
show ring.

We will be serving a pizza lunch. You are welcome to buy ice cream at the Ice Cream Barn.
This event will take place rain or shine as we have a tent to gather inside in case of inclement
weather. We look forward to giving our youth the opportunity to express the knowledge they
have studied and learned all year long. What a great way to kick off the 2015 Summer 4-H
Show Season!

All animals brought to the event for show must be penned properly. The 1pm show is a showmanship class
only, but the animal must be clean. Water will be provided. Bring feed and show supplies.

Calling all Photographers
Summer Kick Off Photography Contest
Rules:
All enrolled Cloverbuds, Juniors and Seniors from Bristol County. Limited to photographs taken the past year.
You may enter 1 photograph per class, 1 of which may be a black and white. All photographs must be matted
and be a 5x7 only and sent in a clear plastic sleeve for protection. Please put the following on a piece of paper
and insert with photograph in sleeve.

Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each class [cloverbud, junior, senior]. Each will be judged
separately.
Judging criteria: Visual impact, Composition, Originality, Presentation

Photographs will be displayed in the 4-H tent at the Summer Kick Off on June 20, 2015.
Awards will be given out at lunch and participants can take their photographs home at the end of the day.
