over our regular monthly pass. Pricing: 1 child
families: $51 / 2 child families $102 / 3 (or more)

for admission during any open play hours.

Weekly Events:
class. All are welcome to attend. Children 2 and
older can stay in the Play Area. Please bring a
yoga/workout mat and water bottle. Cost: Free
SPIDERMAN AT THE CAFE!, Tuesdays from
11:00am- 12:00pm. Spiderman will be visiting
us for some web-slinging fun each week this
month. Cost: Free with admission to the play
area.
HOMESCHOOL STUDY & PLAY, 1:00pm
- 4pm. Every Tuesday afternoon we invite
Homeschooling families to join us at Cafe
O’Play for a special afternoon of study and
play. Our large party room will be set up as
a “study hall” for those kids who need to get
some work done. Cost: Discounted admission
for Homeschoolers is $6.50 per child.

CHESS CLUB! EVERY Wednesday from
4:00pm-6:30pm in the Cafe. Our wonderful
Staffer, Collin Stump is passionate about chess
and will first teach children 8 and up the game
of chess and then provide time for play! Chess
is a fantastic educational tool to teach strategic
problem-solving.

concert for Moms (& other caregivers) and kids
from 12:15pm - 1:00pm. Cafe O’Play co-owner
Carolyn Green is also a singer/songwriter and
will play her original songs about life and
parenthood as well as special sing-alongs of
favorite children songs.
KINDERMUSIK. Summer Kindermusik classes
at Cafe O’Play run June 19th - July 17th. The
classes are Our Time (ages 18mo -3): Wiggle and
Grow “ Silly All Over” 10:30am-11:15am and
Village (ages 0-18 months): Adventures “Busy
Days” 11:30am-12:15pm. Cost for either
session is $110.00 for the 6 week session and

June 2015 SPECIAL EVENTS
Great for younger children!
Tuesday June 2nd & 9th and Thursdays June 4th & ,June 11th.
YOGA FOR TOTS, BABIES, AND TODDLERS. Three different age
group, four session, classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost of four
session class for TOTS & TODDLERS is $85 and includes admission
to the Play Area. BABIES four session class is $65.
9:00am: TOTS: This is a supportive, fun-loving, and active yoga class
for crawlers to 2 year old toddlers and their parent/caregiver.
10:00am: BABY: This class is a blend of yoga-inspired movement,
songs, baby play, and massage especially for newborn to precrawling babies.
11:00AM: TODDLER: This is a parent-child class for preschoolers 2 to
4 years old.
These classes will be led by Jen Hayes, a Certified Children’s Yoga
Instructor who runs Afterlight Fitness and Educational Consulting.

Mary Beth Filon of Portage Trail Barn. Come, create a seasonal flower

Saturday June 13th, 9:00am, THE PAINT DATE CLASS for 5-12
year olds (and their favorite adults) is hosted by artist, Bree Young
who will provide a start to finish, age-appropriate project that can
be frame-able upon completion. Cost is $40 per parent/child pair,
which includes all supplies, instruction, and all-day admission to Play

our pets bring us. “Dogs Know Best” includes life lessons about
accepting yourself & others, persistence leads to happiness, building

live on the Cafe Stage! Each founding member of the band is a
graduate of Nordonia High School (Northfield/Macedonia, Ohio)
whose mascot is “The Knights.” Thus the name “The Good Knights.”

Saturday June 20th, 9:00am-11:00am. SHOE CUTTING PARTY
FOR SOLE HOPE. Michele Mauk (mother of Cafe staffer Jacob
Mauk) will be leading a Sole Hope shoe cutting party. This
organization, Sole Hope, is amazing! Using jeans that we will cut
using a simple pattern, shoes are made and provided to children
in Uganda where the jigger infestation in feet is a huge problem. It
causes pain, deformities, and sometimes amputation. Please visit

the videos, and grab a tissue. Anyone is welcome to help out at this
cutting party. Please bring used jeans and scissors (fabric ones if

Saturday June 20th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, JASON PATRICK MEYERS
live on the Cafe Stage! Jason started his own musical journey on
the piano at the age of two. While other kids played video games
and watched MTV, Jason would watch footage of Dizzy Gillespie,
Thelonius Monk, and Charlie Parker as his father played along on his
double bass. Jason’s parents knew that, even at such an early age, he

Saturday June 27th, 11:00am, MAGICIAN: THE GREAT BRAD will
be performing his unique mix of entertainment. Part Jerry Lewis
and part Houdini, The Great Brad has been entertaining families
throughout northeast Ohio for many years. He will be performing
on the Cafe Stage with a show that is sure to entertain the whole
family. Cost: Free!
Saturday June 27th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Keyboardist
JOHN BOSTON live on the Cafe Stage! A ’61 alum of
Hudson High School, John has appeared with music greats such as
Duke Ellington, and has performed in commercials, on TV & radio
and live in clubs and concert halls throughout Northeast Ohio and
the Eastern US.A. The weather is getting HOT so join us in our air
conditioned, comfy cafe for some COOL music from local artist
John Boston. Cost: Music at Cafe O’Play is listener-supported, so an
opportunity to make contribution will be offered.
Sunday June 28th, 11:30am - 1:30pm. Jen Stancil and her Dad,
Stacey will be performing LIVE BLUEGRASS MUSIC over the lunch
hour on the cafe stage. Bring the family for lunch, play, and listen to
this wonderful father/daughter duo.

NIGHT. Gather up your friends and bring your board games (or
make use of ours in the Cafe). We will end the evening with a
large group Pictionary or Charades game for all who would like to
participate! Cost: Free
Sunday June 14th, 4:30pm - 8:00pm. ALZHEIMER’S
AWARENESS NIGHT. June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness
Month sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. Cafe O’Play
co-owners, John & Carolyn Green as well as their extended family,
spent 5 years caring for John’s mother who had Alzheimer’s
Disease (AD) and passed away in March of 2014. The retail area
at Cafe O’Play is named “Rose Mary’s Boutique” in her memory.
On this June 14th evening, admission to the play area is free, with
a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. Donation cans will
be available and donations can be made in cash, check, or credit
card. Staff from the Alzheimer’s Association will be on hand with
information on the disease, brain teaser activities for kids, and
resources available for caregivers. Those actively caring for a loved
one with AD are especially invited to come and enjoy a fun and
relaxing evening and share in the support and encouragement from
other caregiving families. And of course, our cafe will be open with
our yummy menu of summer salads and other food if you want to
stay for dinner.
Friday, June 19th 5:00pm -8:00pm, SINGLE PARENT FAMILY
NIGHT. All children of Single Parents receive $2 off admission on
this special evening! Tell your friends, bring your kids, and meet
other single parent families. When checking in, please tell our staff
that you are here for the single parent family night to receive your
discount.
Monday, June 22nd, STREET TEAM APPRECIATION DAY.
Admission is free to the play area of Cafe O’Play for all children of

Sunday June 28th, 4:30pm - 7:30pm. SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILY
NIGHT. We close our Open Play hours to the public at 4:00PM every
4th Sunday and open from 4:30PM – 7:30PM exclusively for families
with a special needs child and their siblings for a night of fun. All
children receive 1/2 off our weekend admission rate. This is a great
opportunity to socialize with other families and make new friends.
