The CALA Healing Waters Program is designed to provide high quality, current, research based
training and certification in aquatic post rehabilitation and water exercise for specialized populations.
This program marks the beginning of an ongoing series of specialized courses.

• Total of 20 hours of applied leadership training: including theory & practical
• Minimum of 4 hours of pool time
• Preparation for certification examinations (Open-book Theory exams & Arthritis
Practical Assessment, Assignment – Class Plan & Case Studies)
• Detailed, comprehensive CALA Aquatic Post-Rehab Prep and Aqua Arthritis Manuals
• Course Text Book: Aquatic Exercise Therapy, by Hanson and Bates
• Qualified CALA Trainer: Nancy Rumple

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR THIS COURSE:
• Completion of the CALA Foundations of Vertical Water Training – The Kopansky
Method Course and accompanying open book theory exam is a pre-requisite for
entrance into the CALA Healing Waters Program (call CALA for details)
• Comfort with applied anatomy and the physiological effects of immersion are essential
• Keen interest in post-rehab water exercise is recommended
• Willingness to learn through practice and study
• Eagerness to achieve a high standard in leadership
Approved and Recognized by the Arthritis Society.
Special Note:
If you have not completed the CALA Foundations of Vertical Water Training Course, you must
complete an “Application of Acceptance” into the Healing Waters Program. Contact CALA for a copy
of the application.
