AWH was formed on the 1 July 2009 when both Albury Base Hospital and Wodonga
Regional Health Service integrated. The Integrated hospital is approximately 250 beds.
Service at the Albury Campus include Medical, Surgical, Paediatrics, Rehabilitation,
ICU, Emergency, Oncology and Psychiatry.
Service at Wodonga campus include Medical, Rehabilitation, High Dependecy Unit,
Surgical, Obstetric, Special Care Nursery, Haemodialysis, Day Surgery, Emergency
Services and drug supply to regional hospitals.

Department Information
The Pharmacies are modern with open plan design.
The current staffing levels are Pharmacist 8.3 EFT; Pharmacy technician 6.0 EFT and
Pharmacy Pre-Registrant 2.0.
The pre-registrant is involved with ward pharmacy, inpatient and outpatient dispensing,
sterile and non sterile manufacture, supply to regional hospitals and inventory control.

Pharmacy Pre-registrant Training Program
The training program follows the Practice Guidelines for Hospital Pharmacy trainee
programs.
The pre-registrant is required to study 3 items each week and give a brief report.
Presentation of Case studies from the ward to pharmacy staff along with continuing
education talks to nursing staff are encouraged. Interaction with the tutor occurs
formally once a week but informally daily with on the job training.

Albury –Wodonga has a regional population of 92,000 people and offers plenty of
sporting and recreational activities. Half an hour away from the wineries at Rutherglen
and 1hr away from the Snow at Falls Creek, 10 minutes away from Hume Weir. Easy
3hr drive on Hume Hwy to Melbourne or 6hr drive to Sydney. Free car parking.
