General Guidelines for Poster Production
A poster should be self-contained and self-explanatory
Titles, captions, and illustrations should be designed to be viewed from a distance (should be readable
from five feet aways). Remember to caption your poster with the abstract title, authors’ names and
affiliations. Headings should be a minimum of 50 point size, whereas, 25 point size is suitable for text.
Be sure to include the abstract title, author names, and the institution where the work was completed, in
large letters centered at the top of the poster. Place your address, phone number and email address in
the upper right-hand corner.
You should use the headings "Introduction", "Methods", "Results" and "Conclusions" to identify your
poster layout. Include an acknowledgment section, containing anyone who helped you conduct this
project.
Posters should stimulate discussion, not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum,
emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.
