PAGING TUTORIAL
There are multiple ways to send a page to a UMHC pager; numeric message via the telephone, text or numeric
message via MyApps, Midwest Paging Website, or on certain pagers, via email.
1.
Send page via telephone. This option will allow you to type in a phone number for the recipient to
return a call to.
Directions:
a. Dial your specific # (5 or 9, etc.) to get an outside line.
b. Enter in the 7 digit pager number of the person you are trying to reach.
c. Wait until the message says “Please enter your numeric message after the tone, tone”. Enter the
phone number you would like for the recipient to call.
d. Hang up.

Send page via the application on the My Apps page via the UMHC Call Schedules Directory and Text
Paging (Intelliweb) application.
a. Go to the MyApps page.
b. Double click on the UMHC Call Schedules Directory and Text Paging icon.
a. Enter the name, department, or pager number (xxx-xxxx) in the search box. Select type of search
(last name, first name, dept., ext., pager, location). Click Search.
b. Select person on the list that you were looking for. Details on the contact will appear on the right.
Click on the hyperlink by the pager: that indicates an alpha numeric pager.
c. A box will pop up. Enter your text message in the box and press send.
d. If you have a login for Intelliweb, all steps will be the same, except you will need to login to the
login link as shown below:
Contact 882-3121 for a Login User Name. Once you have a login, you will automatically be logged
in when you open the application.
e. Once logged in, you may now make groups and customize your personal preferences under the
personal tab.
3. Send a text message via the Midwest paging website at www.midwestpaging.com .
a.
Go to www.midwestpaging.com on the internet.
b. Enter the seven digit pager number to be called in the Pager # box. You can enter multiple pagers by
separating them with a comma. Enter your message in the message box and press Send Page.
4. Send an email to the text pager. Many of the pagers have been enabled to send emails to alpha
numeric pagers. Use only plain text and no more than 240 characters per message.
To send a text or numeric message via email:
a. type the pager number in the to line from your Outlook email account in this format:
[email protected] . Enter your message in the body of the email and press
send.
HOW TO MAKE GROUPS IN INTELLIWEB
Groups can be created in Intelliweb if you have a login to Intelliweb. You will be in Guest status if you
do not log into the program. Contact Chris Jensen at 573-882-3121 to obtain a user ID if you do not
have one.
To log into Intelliweb:
You will be automatically logged into Intelliweb through active directory if you are logged into the
computer.
If you are on a generic workstation as a guest, you will have to login with the user name and password
you have been issued by Telecom.
To create a group in Intelliweb:
a. Select the personal tab.
Select My Messaging Groups.
To create a group, select the New button.
Type in the name of your paging group and hit save.
With the group you are creating selected, type the last name of a member of the group in the Last
Name/Dept Search. Select the member for the group and click Add Member or double click on the
name.
The name will then populate the current member box. To remove this member, highlight the member
and click delete member.
Continue to search for and populate your group.
Once your group has been created, and you are ready to send a message to one, all or certain members of
the group, click on the My Messaging Groups link. Select the group you would like to send to. All
members of the group will show up. Click the Send Message button.
You may now choose to send to all members of the group, or to select only certain members of the
group.
Type message in box.
Hit the send button to send.
HOW TO USE THE ON CALL SCHEDULES
Go to MyApps and click on UMHC Call Schedules and Text Paging. That will take you to the following
page:
Once you are here you can go into the directory to find phone numbers, pager numbers and some emails
for individuals and departments as long as they are in the system. Or you can go into the On-Call tab to
find who is on call for different services. The On-Call page will look like the one below.
Once you have selected a department you will see a page that looks like this one:
Please remember that the current on call list will always be in red, if you want to see who is on later or
before you will need to click on the Show All Records link (arrow is pointing to it). After clicking on
this link the page will look like this:
This will show you everyone one that is on from Midnight for that day until 11:59 that night. Although
you should note that those that are not on call at the time you look at this page will be in blue. Please
always look at the start time and end times and also the Role as we have On-Calls listed for UH, VA,
MOI, and WCH, you will want to choose the appropriate person. If the listing says UMHC that means
the person is on-call for all University Health Care Hospitals.
