Presently the Chief Strategy Officer of Centric Digital, Dearth is responsible for providing branding solutions focused on increasing awareness among new customers regarding Centric’s unique value proposition in the market. Dearth runs the company’s “Insights” strategy practice and supervises a team of 15 digital strategy professionals. He successfully launched Centric’s digital audit product designed to provide clients a clear benchmark to gauge digital maturity. Centric Digital’s clients include global corporations in the healthcare, finance, retail and media industries, as well as private equity firms, government entities, non-‐profits, start-‐ups and high-‐profile public figures. Centric Digital was named #34 on the 2014 Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in the country, as well as, #4 in Business Products & Services Companies, #1 in New York State and #1 in New York City. Before joining Centric Digital, Dearth served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Smile Train, a Forbes Top 200 non-‐profit that provides charitable funding for corrective surgeries for children with cleft lips and palates. He introduced a digital marketing platform for the organization to leverage social media for the first time, which led to substantial increases in donations during his tenure. Dearth’s leadership resulted in over $300M raised and over one million new supporters. His vision delivered a 30% increase in online donations. Dearth was recruited to join Smile Train from New Madison Avenue, where he was a partner in a digital media consulting firm. From 2008-‐2010, Mr. Dearth originated over $2M in new client engagements and offered valuable advice to promising entrepreneurs in myriad industries. He partnered directly with key clients, notably assuming the Chief Marketing Officer role for Three Jars, Inc. an online money management concept that sought to educate young children and teens in financial responsibility. Prior to New Madison Avenue, Dearth emerged as a thought leader in the publishing industry as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Management at Scholastic, Inc. He oversaw over $350M in online commerce for Scholastic and established lasting loyalty and advertising programs that kept Scholastic relevant to target demographics. Dearth concentrated his career in media, marketing, and digital branding starting from his ascent up The Nielsen Company’s corporate ladder. He spent 12 years with the world’s leading consumer analytics and television ratings provider before being selected to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Hollywood Stock Exchange, an opportunity that reflected a pure internet startup play; Dearth proved instrumental in raising $7M in capital toward an ultimate $110M valuation. He then founded and launched a boutique marketing and entertainment agency called Brand2B in New York City. As a partner with Brand2B, Dearth helped introduce the first digital convergence of broadband / TV / mobile on JUICE, a new mobile publishing platform. An MBA graduate of the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia, he also earned an MA at Georgetown University, as well as a BA from Miami University in Ohio. Dearth lives in Connecticut with his wife, three sons, and terrier. Away from the office, he serves as President of the Ridgefield Boys Lacrosse Booster Club.
