ALL CLUB NEWS
END-OF-YEAR PARTY: Come one, come all to our end-of-year party to be held on Wednesday May 13th
at 6:00 PM at FoxFire Ranch. It is a beautiful location off Highway 7 just 18 minutes from Sisk Avenue.
We will have a BBQ dinner which includes catfish, chicken, pork BBQ, many sides and dessert. A live
band will be providing music for your listening or dancing pleasure. The cost is $15.00 per member, $18
for non-member/ guests . Please RSVP by May 5 by mailing your check payable to Oxford Newcomers'
Cub to Bonnie Siebert at 1138 E Wellsgate Drive. Complete driving instructions will be sent out at a later

PRELIMINARY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR 2015-2016: The educational sessions planning team of
Don Mason, Alice Virden, Rosie Vassallo and Reba Greer met in March to develop ideas for
presentations for 2015-2016. The team collected suggestions, compiled and reviewed them, and
presented a list of topics to the Newcomers' Board at the March Board meeting. The team will meet
again on March 30 at 10:00 am at the Chamber to flesh out topics, secure presenters and share the
results. The goal is to have the completed 2015-16 program list ready for sharing at the May end-of-year
celebration at Foxfire. Everyone is welcome to join the planning team on March 30! A list of preliminary
topics follows at the end of the newsletter.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS: Please welcome Joe and Brenda Talley from Iowa City, IA; Loree Allen from
Hudson, OH and Marty and Lisa Daniels.
NEWS FROM ALL SECTIONS
BOOK CLUB 1: We will meet Thursday April 16 at 2:00 pm in the parlor at St. Peter's Church. The book
for discussion will be The Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout. Chair: Jean Greenway, 234-8715.
BOOK CLUB 2: Mark your calendars: Book Club 2 will meet on Thursday April 23 at 2:00 pm. Further
information will follow. Chair: Nancy Muller, 638-3061.
BRIDGE GROUP: This group is open to both men and women - you just need to know the basic rules of
bridge. We are a relaxed group who just enjoy playing bridge. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of
each month at 1:00 pm at O-U Methodist Church on the 2nd floor of the activity center. New members
are welcome! Chair: Mary Poole 281-8103.
FIVE O'CLOCK ON THE SQUARE: We will get together both on April 9th at Goose CreekClub off
Anderson Road behind Wellsgate, and on April 23 at the Corner Bar which is located across the alley

LUNCH BUNCH: Join us- men, women, couples, singles and guests--for lunch at on Tuesday April 28 at

MEN'S BREAKFAST: We meet every Monday and Thursday at 7:30 am at The Beacon. Please join us!

MEN'S MOVIE: On Tuesday April 28 @ 2:00 pm we will watch Jersey Boys, a 2014 drama about the
musical group, the Four Seasons. Chair: Buck Ladner, 314 Wishing Tree Lane, 513-6223.
NEEDLERS: The Needlers Group will meet on Thursday April 9 from 1 - 3 pm at the home of Tricia
Copelin, 19 Country Road 157, 234-3045. If you need directions please call Tricia. Chair: Erika Winrow.
OLE MISS ATHLETICS: For those who signed up for the Athletic Events group, watch your email for
upcoming events. Want to learn more? Contact chairman Eddie Clinton, [email protected], (407) 4687817.
OUT-TO-EAT: This group is organized in small groups of 6 people or 3 couples who want to dine out
together. They get together in a different mix of groups three times a year - fall, winter, spring. The
final rotation is for March/April. New groups for the third round were sent out in March to those who
participate. Your group should plan to go out to eat, sometime during March or April. Chair: Ann

TASTE OF OXFORD: The "Taste of Oxford" women's lunch group will meet on Thursday April 16 at Tre
Amici located off the Square at 1107 Jackson Avenue. We will meet at 11:30 am for a casual lunch
selected from their daily menu. Come and meet other ladies in our community for this lunch-time
event featuring good food and fellowship. For more information, call Sandra Roy at 561-6199.
WOMEN OF THE BIBLE: We will meet Tuesday April 21 at 10:00 am at St. Andrew's Methodist Church.

WOMEN'S COFFEE: We will get together for conversation and fellowship the first and third Fridays of
