Tuesday, 31 March 2015 Marhaba w Ahlan wa Sahlan! (Hello & Welcome!)
WT@1 would like to invite you to our Doing Business in Saudi Arabia event on Tuesday 31st March 2015. Keynote speakers include Chris Innes‐Hopkins, UK Executive Director of the Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) and Abdelsalam El‐Idrissi, Director of Trade Services at the Arab‐British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Attendees will hear a briefing on opportunities open to UK businesses in Saudi Arabia and an update on the latest economic developments, along with receiving expert advice on doing business with Saudi Arabia and key issues such as cultural differences, getting goods and services to market and getting paid. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the oldest and influential nations in the Middle East, and occupies the vast majority of the Arabian peninsula. It is famous for its horses, its oil, and the famous ancient city of Mecca. Although oil is still the country’s major source of wealth, the nation has been diversifying its economy in recent years, and welcomes global trading opportunities. Saudi Arabia has several ports, of which the main port is Jeddah, on the Red Sea, and its main national airline is Saudia Airlines. The country is a high growth market which offers significant opportunities for UK companies across a range of sectors. Record oil revenues have allowed the Kingdom to increase public spending on infrastructure and welfare. This includes major projects in:‐ 

These High Value Opportunity (HVO) projects will make up an estimated US$1,000 billion of investment over the next 20 years. In addition to the HVO projects, there are many opportunities in the construction, security, financial services and retail sectors, as well as shipping and logistics. Now is the time to seize a wealth of opportunities, and this event will give an insight into the potential that can be tapped from exporting to this powerful nation. Our speakers will be available for consultation over lunch, when you will also have the opportunity to network with fellow international traders. We are also offering a limited number of 10 minute 121s after lunch, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Places for this event are limited.
