Our Community Salutes – April 16th 7:00 PM, Heritage High School (7825 SE 130th Ave., Vancouver WA 98682).
Ice cream Social after the ceremony. This is an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to honor the young
men and women who are entering military service from our local high schools here in Clark County. The event is
sponsored by MacKay Sposito.
Northwest Indian Veteran’s Association “Chief Redheart Ceremony – April 25th 10:00 AM to Noon at the Great
Meadows (Corner of 5th Street and Reserve Street). A Traditional Native American Dinner will be served at the Artillery
Barracks from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Each year Nez Perce tribal members travel to sites to conduct traditional
memorials to honor their ancestors. The public is encouraged to attend. No admission charge but donations are

Memorial Day Ceremony – May 25th, 11:00 AM, Fort Vancouver National Park – Main Gazebo. Reception: 10:00
AM to 10:45 AM at the Marshal House (Invitation Only – CMAC Members are welcome!). Outdoor Reception in front
of the Marshal House. Following Memorial Day Ceremony, National Park Service will present their Soldier’s Bivouac
till 5:00 PM.
Memorial Bricks for Sale – Get your order in for the next set! $100 for each brick, up to 18 characters on each line up
to 2 lines. The first order of bricks have been placed at the Memorial site in front of the new Armed Forces Reserve

Veteran’s Wall Mural – To add your name to the Veteran’s Wall at the west end by the railroad berm and City Hall, email Wayne Clemetson at [email protected]. Include your rank, name, branch of service, and theater of
Service.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7824 is welcoming the first 100 Veterans, who just returned from conflicts, with free

American Red Cross “Fire Preparedness Campaign” – April 18th 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM meeting first at Memorial
Lutheran Church (2700 E 28th Street, Vancouver WA). Come and volunteer to help canvass the neighborhood homes in
checking for working smoke alarms, and to install new, free smoke alarms in homes that need them. To register online

Bravo! “The Best of America’s Music” – May 17th 3:00 PM at Crossroads Community Church. Conductor Maria
Manzo and the Bravo! Vancouver Chorale and Orchestra will be performing a variety of music including a rendition of
the “Armed Forces Salute. This concert will help support the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information visit

Paddle for Life “Dragon Boat Festival” – May 23rd and 24th at Vancouver Lake Park. Racing 10 and 20 paddler

VFW Post 2666 “Car Show” – May 25th (Memorial Day). Registration 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, Judging 12 Noon to

whitewater rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, swimming and hot tub, bungee jumping, zip lining, and indoor rock wall
