CCSHSA Leaders Needed
After years of volunteering as HSA leaders,
our co-presidents, Joi-Ann Balsam and
Sharon Rock, are stepping down at the end
of this school year. CCS is grateful for all
you’ve done to support our school and thank
you both for your thousands of volunteer
hours! If you’re interested in helping lead the
HSA (we’ve already recruited one copresident!), please contact Joi-Ann and

Also needed for next school year is a new
Coordinator of the Box Tops for Education
program. Most of the work for this program
can be done from home, and it helps to raise
thousands of dollars for CCS each year. If

Character Counts
K- 5 Grade Character Development Program: Fairness, Responsibility, Respect, Citizenship, Trustworthiness, and Caring.
Here at Collegium, students are recognized by staff for their good character and their names and photos are
added to the Good Character Walls. We have new additions to our Good Character Walls: Cole BennerSmith, Natalia Guzman-Murrey, Sydney Pryor, Sela Butts, Sage Bauer, Timothy Linkins, Nicole Loumis,

and Mrs. Jackson's 4 Grade Class.
Parent Survey Follow-Up
Thanks to the CCS parents/guardians who provided us with feedback during our annual survey. Over the next few weeks,
we’ll respond to some of the comments in our Newsletter.
Comment: “One small change should be made to the gym uniform options--long sleeve t-shirts should be an option. It is
simply too cold in the winter to dress my child in a short sleeve t-shirt for gym, but if she wears a sweatshirt, she gets too
warm with activity in gym. I actually inquired at Flynn & O'Hara about long-sleeve t-shirts and was told that they carry
them but Collegium doesn't offer the option. I was also told that many people have asked about this. Please strongly
consider this option.”
Response: This is a great idea! I’m sure our students will love this option. Collegium has contacted our uniform supplier,
Flynn & O’Hara, to request that long-sleeve t-shirts be added as a gym uniform option effective for the 2015-2016 school
year.

MS/HS Theater Meeting
The CCS Drama Society advisors are so excited to share the wonderful things planned for 2015-2016 that they simply
can’t wait until next year! All students in grades 6-11 interested in participating in theater next year are encouraged to

attend (with their parents) a planning meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30pm in the 515 Auditorium. The advisors will
be sharing thoughts from this year and some exciting plans for next year. If you were involved in theater this year or last,
we want your input. If you've never participated in theater before but have an interest, we look forward to meeting you!
Donations for Animal Rescue

Our Elem Student Council is sponsoring a collection to benefit Main Line Animal Rescue. Beginning April 27 , collection

bins will be located in our 500 & 150 Main Offices. Items will be collected until Friday, May 8 . A list of suggested
donations is located at http://www.mainlinerescue.com/donate/wish-list. Please do not donate pillows, pillowcases, sheets,

Sewing at Home
Volunteers are needed to sew and donate weighted lap pillows and blankets. If you can help, please contact Mrs. M.

Donations Needed
Clean, baby food jars: Please send to “Mrs. Steines, 150 Building.”
Doing some spring cleaning? CCS is looking for donations of the following items: bean bag chairs, baby gates,
yoga/stability balls, child-size rocking chair, hand puppets, toy instruments, bubbles and bubble blowers, small play sets
(ex. Little People house), new or gently used stuffed animals, peg boards, and shakers. Please send donations to “Mrs.
M. Wilkins, 435 Building”.
Tennis Intramurals
Any student in grades 3-5 interested in registering for Tennis Intramurals must complete the registration form
