2015 U.S. Figure Skating Solo Dance Series SCNY DANCE Saturday, April 18, 2015 Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park East Meadow, NY A participating competition within the 2015 Solo Dance Series. The solo pattern dance event, combined event and shadow dance events are being offered as part of the 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Solo Dance Series and will be conducted in accordance with the 2015 Solo Dance Series Handbook found at http://www.usfigureskating.org/Programs.asp?id=479. Please refer to the 2015 Solo Dance Series handbook for the current Series rules, levels and event requirements that will be in effect for this competition. LOCATION: Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park, 200 Merrick Avenue, East Meadow, NY 11554 Phone: (516) 441-0070) ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE: Athletes must be eligible members in good standing of U.S. Figure Skating. All participants will be expected to abide by the Code of Ethics (GR 1.01) and the Code of Conduct (GR 1.02), as set forth in the 2014-15 U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook. All test requirements must be met at the date entries are closed. Entrants may skate up one level. The competition committee reserves the right to limit the size of each group or to combine or divide groups. The committee may eliminate events due to insufficient entries or ice time limitations. ENTRY FEES: Entry fees include a video of your skater’s performance. There is a $10 registration fee required for paper applications. SCNY will not charge this fee for online registrations. DEADLINE: Electronic entries must be submitted online no later than midnight, March 25, 2015. Paper entries must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2015. SCHEDULE: Schedules will be posted on Entryeeze and our website (www.thescny.org) approximately one (1) week prior to the start of the competition. Schedules will not be mailed. MUSIC: Dance music selection for Pattern Dance events will be chosen from the Standardized music of the International Skating Union, per rule 6030, and will be provided by U.S. Figure Skating. This event is being offered at the Preliminary, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Pre-Silver, Silver, Pre-Gold, Gold and International levels. COMBINED EVENT: The combined dance event is comprised of the following: 1.) JUVENILE, INTERMEDIATE, NOVICE: One solo pattern dance chosen by the referee out of two possible dances as selected by U.S. Figure Skating. This dance will not be posted until the starting order is posted at the competition. Pattern Dance Selection for Juvenile: Willow Waltz and Ten Fox Pattern Dance Selection for Intermediate: European Waltz and Foxtrot Pattern Dance Selection for Novice: Tango and American Waltz JUNIOR, SENIOR: A short dance 2.) A solo free dance The pattern dances competed in the combined dance event are separate from those in the solo pattern dance event and the results will not count towards the solo pattern dance event or results. This event is offered at the juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels. SHADOW DANCE: The Shadow Dance event is offered for the preliminary through senior levels. This registration and number is required to enter your competition as a Series participant and accrue points.
