This year we intend to listen to all choir members in the form of a very simple and low level
audition. This is an exercise to suggest either changes to other sections of the choir or to
advise on next steps forward possibly to apply for NYCGB auditions in November 2015. We
will provide you all with music to sing at this audition nearer the time.

This event is for all choir members plus their families and will form part of the Cornwall
Music Education Hub Showcase and the BBC Ten Pieces
We will not be holding a Summer concert this term.
Our next concerts will be held on October 17th in Truro Cathedral and on December 12th at
the Chapel Street Methodist Church in Penzance
We will break for summer until Saturday 5th September 2015

Autumn 2015 Rehearsal and Concert Schedule

Saturday 5th September 2015 Full Choir rehearsal and registration
Registration for new and former members will take place from 1.15pm onwards in the
Assembly Hall at Truro Prep.
Please print and complete your own ensemble form and bring it along with you.
Please bring with you a completed choir ensemble form plus fees in form of cheque £25 per
term. We cannot accept cash payment.

Both CBC and CGC will be working in the first part of the Autumn term towards a
performance of ‘ A Different Child’
by Russell Pascoe which we will perform along with a small orchestra and soloists as well as
the
St Marys Singers (adult choir based in Truro cathedral) on Saturday October 17th 2015 and
so most of the rehearsals leading up to this date are focussed on full choir rehearsals,
together, as easier. Tickets for this concert will be sold through HFC Box Office.

This rehearsal will be given by Esther Jones of NYCGB and is a’ Masterclass’ for both choirs
as
well as individuals interested in auditioning for NYCGB in November 2015.

● Saturday 10 th October 2.00-5.00pm Full Choir Rehearsal Truro Prep
● Wednesday 14th October - 7.30-9.00pm Full rehearsal in Truro Cathedral for all
choirs including adult choirs. This is our only Dress rehearsal so please make every
effort to attend.
● Saturday 17 th October – Afternoon Rehearsal from 2.00-4.30pm, followed by
evening Concert 7.30pm in Truro Cathedral. This rehearsal will take place in Truro
Cathedral, and we will look after the choirs in between the rehearsal and concert.
Choirs will require a packed tea and drink plus choir uniform.
The concert will be given in Truro Cathedral starting at 7.30pm. Tickets from HFC Box
office.

We will have an afternoon rehearsal starting mid - afternoon at 2.00pm followed by an
evening concert at 7.00pm. Choirs will require a packed tea plus choir uniform.
We will arrange coach travel from Launceston to Penzance for Callington groups, one way,
parents collect after concert.
