Role Overview
At Time Out, we love to share the latest news about what’s going on in the
city you love. Millions of people around the world read our content every day
and now we’re opening up our Blog to external writers for the first time.
We’re looking for a Community Manager who can spot blogging talent, bring
them to Time Out and mobilise a growing community to inform our readers
about what's happening in their city.
The right person will know where to find the finest writers around and how to
get them excited about contributing to Time Out. You’ll be charismatic, selfmotivated, creative and highly organised.
Key Responsibilities





Find exciting local talent to build a community of bloggers and
reviewers writing for Time Out.
Give individual feedback and encouragement to bloggers on their
writing and promotion of content.
Manage face-to-face workshops for the best bloggers in collaboration
with the editorial team.
Write compelling and inspiring blog posts plus content for sites.
Meet up with other bloggers in the network and see and be seen by
attending event and venue openings.






Contribute ideas for posts on social media accounts for key UK Time
Out sites.
Moderate user comments on Blog Network posts and across our social
media profiles.
Help with the planning and execution of events that get people talking
and excited about Time Out.
Speak to business owners and promoters and meet people at big
events to spread the word about Time Out.
Lead by example, galvanising bloggers by being a professional and
inspirational role model.
Inform and update the team on market initiatives and new technology.
Skills and Experience





Experience of writing, briefing and creative work on tight deadlines.
Digital publishing experience or knowledge of Blogging and Blog
networks.
Experience with social networking and event planning.
Consider yourself a local expert.
Proven ability to work effectively with editorial, marketing, commercial,
design and technical teams.
