Dagens Nyheter: Twingly increases depth of blogosphere
Dagens Nyheter: Twingly increases depth of
blogosphere
Since February, Dagens Nyheter ‐ the largest morning newspaper in Sweden ‐has been using Twingly to link back to blogs containing links to articles published on the paper's website DN.se. And right away, the service has made its mark. "We are getting positive feedback from our readers ‐ also from people who are very used to browsing the Internet ‐ and from Swedish bloggers. The dominating opinion is that Twingly adds another dimension to news consumption," says Dagens Nyheter's Johan Brandt, who oversaw the implementation of Twingly on DN.se earlier this year. T he blog connection has created buzz not only among individual Internet users but commercially a s well. "We are always trying to keep DN.se relevant to our readers, and advertising media companies like it when things happen on the site. Twingly feels like one example of such a thing," says Brandt. Players of the blogosphere have taken Twingly to their hearts as a tool for creating visibililty, and according to Johan Brandt, this can be seen clearly on DN.se. "Twingly has changed the way many writers use their blogs, and by linking to content on DN.se, their texts often reach a greater depth. We have noticed that bloggers tend to show their interest not only in 'fast' Internet news articles, but also in content such as opinion and editorials," he says. "Another side of this is that we feel even closer to our readers now, especially our blogging readers. Blogs can create more profound and differently angled views to a story." Blog links to DN.se
