GP Seminar Invitation Which Scan Do I Request? 4 Category 2 QI&CPD points. Tuesday 19th May 2015, 6.15pm - 9pm Grand Hotel, 79 Goondoon Street, Gladstone The I-MED Network GP Education Seminar Series aims to assist in improved patient outcomes by providing GPs with relevant, current and evidence based medical imaging education and information. The seminar will include sessions focusing on the most appropriate imaging investigations for common patient presentations in the primary care setting. GP Facilitator: Dr Gaston Boulanger MBBS, FRACGP Dr Gaston Boulanger trained in the Netherlands. He has been working as a doctor since 1998. His special interests include paediatrics, skin cancer and minor surgery, joint injections, sports medicine and dive medicals. Radiologist: Orthopaedic Surgeon: Physiotherapist: Dr Sankar Mondal Dr Gerard Kilian Mr Nathan Smith MBBS, MD, FRCR MBChB, FRACS BPhysio/BExSci Dr Sankar Mondal joined CQMI in August 2011. He completed his medical degree at the NRS Medical College & Hospital at Calcutta University and went on complete his Radiology training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He was admitted as a Fellow of RCR (UK) following his training and has a special interest in Intervention. Dr Mondal’s sub-speciality is neuroradiology Dr Gerard Kilian is a Gladstone based Orthopaedic Surgeon who focuses on hip, knee and shoulder surgery, as well as general orthopaedic surgery. He completed his medical degree at The University of Stellenbosch (1989) and then undertook his Orthopaedics training in Cape Town. He gained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics (1996) and became a fellow of the RACS (2013). Dr Kilian worked in Scotland for 15 years as an Orthopaedic Consultant where he also acted as an Honorary Lecturer for the University of Aberdeen. He worked in a district general hospital, an elective orthopaedic centre and a joint replacement centre performing more than 1500 joint replacements. Since relocating to Australia he has worked as the Acting Director for the orthopaedic service in Rockhampton Base Hospital and as a visiting consultant in Gladstone Base Hospital (2011). He became a visiting specialist at the Gladstone Mater Hospital (2014). Nathan is Director of Gladstone Physio and Fitness. He has extensive experience in manual therapy and sports injuries, with special interests in foot orthotics prescription, ergonomics, clinical pilates, running injuries and rehabilitation and return-to-work fitness.
