The I-MED Network GP Education Seminar Series aims to assist in improved patient
outcomes by providing GPs with relevant, current and evidence based medical
imaging education and information.
The seminar will include sessions focusing on the most appropriate imaging
investigations for common patient presentations in the primary care setting.

Dr Michael Keating
Prior to training in medicine, Dr Keating worked as a
travel agent & then undertook a Diploma of Applied
Science in Nursing in Sydney. He graduated in Medicine
from the University of Newcastle, NSW in 1989 as
a mature age student. Moving back to Brisbane in
1991 with his wife and two sons he commenced surgical training
gaining valuable experience in paediatric surgery & urology, plastic
surgery and neurosurgery. In 1994 he moved into general practice
in Rockhampton and attained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian
College of General Practitioners. An experienced pilot himself, he
is also an aviation medical examiner for the Civil Aviation Safety
Authority and a consultant in aviation drug and alcohol management.
His surgical interests include performing skin cancer surgery and
working with visiting plastic and reconstructive surgeons to provide
breast and abdominal plastic surgery procedures. With Dr Brad
Lorraway he also provides a sleep apnoea clinic, diagnosing and
treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. Dr Keating has been
practicing in Rockhampton for twenty years and is committed to
providing a very high standard of care and going the extra mile for his
patients.
Dr John Salanitri
MBBS, FRANZCR
Dr John Salanitri has been a Radiologist for over 10
years, recently joining CQMI in Rockhampton. Dr Salanitri
trained in Australia and was accepted as a fellow to the
Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR)
in 2002. After completing a fellowship in MRI at the Alfred Hospital
in Melbourne, Dr Salanitri completed a mini fellowship in Cardiac
MRI at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois USA.
Dr Salanitri went on to be appointed as the Director of Training and
Education in Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at the Evanston
Northwestern Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. In 2006 Dr Salanitri returned
to Australia where he has been a senior consultant radiologist with
Queensland Diagnostic Imaging in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Dr Salanitri brings advanced experience in MRI and Cardiac Imaging
and is a great addition to our team in Rockhampton.

Learning Outcomes:

accurate diagnosis and management of common patient presentations
