Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch Challenge # 48

Our card challenges are here to be a source of inspiration, helping you create pretty cards easily! You’re encouraged
to let the creative spark take you wherever it goes: rotate the layout, change up the sizes, use different shapes, or
duplicate the sketch exactly.
To help you get started we’ve created this Mini Tutorial with measurement and cutting information as well as a
recipe for our inspiration card. This is just a tiny glimpse of what you can expect from the monthly Craft Project
Central Tutorials! We’re looking forward to seeing what this sketch inspires you to create!
Card Instructions
Step 1
Use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” Very Vanilla Cardstock at 4-1/4”. Use the Crumb
Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad to ink the Hardwood Stamp, and stamp the image on the front of the Cardstock.

Use the Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin’ Pad to ink the large floral and honeycomb images from Butterfly Basics
Stamp Set. Stamp the images on the 1” x 5-1/2” Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. Use the Early Espresso Classic Stampin’
Pad to ink the small butterfly image, and stamp it several times on the 1” x 5-1/2” Early Espresso Cardstock. Wrap
the 8” Venetian Crochet Trim around the Pear Pizzazz strip, securing the ends to the back of the cardstock with
adhesive. Adhere the Pear Pizzazz strip to the left edge of the card. Adhere the Early Espresso Cardstock strip to
the right of the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock strip.

Ink the Happy Birthday image using Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad, and stamp it onto the 2” x 2-3/4” Lost
Lagoon Cardstock. Gently tear the bottom edge of the cardstock, and then adhere it to the card as shown in the
photo.

Use Paper Snips to make a banner cut on one end of the 3/4" x 2-1/8” Crumb Cake Cardstock, 3/4" x 2-1/2” Soft Sky
Cardstock, and 3/4" x 3-1/8” Lost Lagoon Cardstock. Using the sketch as a guide, line up the three, 3/4" strips. Ink
the large floral image with the Lost Lagoon Classic Stampin’ Pad, and stamp the image onto the three strips of
cardstock.

Adhere the three stamped strips to the front of the card, making sure that the stamped image lines up from one strip
to the next. From scrap Early Espresso Cardstock, use the 3/4" Circle Punch to punch two circles. Adhere the
circles to the left edge of the Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon Cardstock strips. Complete the card by inserting the ends of
an 8” piece of Linen Thread through the holes of the Very Vintage Designer Button, tie the ends in a bow, and
adhere the button with Mini Glue Dots to the left edge of the 3/4" Crumb Cake Cardstock strip. Ink the small
butterfly image with the Lost Lagoon Classic Stampin’ Pad, and stamp the image onto scrap Soft Sky Cardstock.
Punch the stamped image with the Bitty Butterfly Punch, and then use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the
sentiment layer.
