Named for a chandelier in the lobby of one of its first buildings, Crystal
City was originally developed in the 1960s and continues to evolve as a
unique place to live, work, stay and play. This once-industrial area is now
Arlington’s largest downtown, home to more than 350 corporations,
5000 hotel rooms, 8000 residences and a wide array of commercial and
cultural destinations that thrive--inside as well as outside--thanks to a
convenient network of interior walkways waiting to be explored.
Crystal City stretches along the Potomac River from the sweeping vistas
and open space of Long Bridge Park on the north to the remarkably
accessible and architecturally stunning National Airport to the east, with
all the amenities of city living and an array of transportation options in
between. Whether you arrive by plane, train, automobile, bus, bike or
foot, you'll find that Crystal City sparkles!
