CWC is pleased to invite you to our June meeting. Register
today for the opportunity to meet new colleagues and
keep up-to-date on happenings in the field of workforce
development.
This July marks the beginning of a new chapter for the workforce
development field with the implementation of the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA), the first legislative
reform of the public workforce system in more than 15 years.
Please join us for a presentation by Angela McCabe, Workforce
Development Director, and Joseph McLaughlin, Research and
Evaluation Director, Boston Private Industry Council, highlighting
WIOA reforms including services for youth, improving services for
individuals with disabilities, and promoting the use of career
pathways and sector strategies. Following the presentation will be a
panel of practitioners, including Meredith Miller Crouse, Health Care
Careers Consortium Project Manager, who will share information
about their sector-based partnerships and career pathways.
Following the presentation we will discuss existing promising
practices and implications for serving the region's job seekers and
employers going forward.
10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Networking with Colleagues. This is a
half-hour opportunity to meet and talk with new and old colleagues,
while enjoying muffins and coffee/tea. Bring your business cards
and program information to share.
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program will start promptly at
10:30 a.m.!

The CWC Boston Peer Learning Network is open to all
workforce development and adult education professionals
and:

is especially relevant for direct service and supervisory staff;
provides a forum to discuss on-the-job challenges and learn
from peers best practices/strategies to address challenges;
focuses on networking to build your professional contacts; &
includes small group discussion and announcements on
workforce development programs and events.
The Boston Peer Learning Network has been convening
workforce development staff since 2007.
The Commonwealth Workforce Coalition (CWC) is a statewide capacity building initiative providing training,
professional development and network opportunities for staff of organizations engaged in workforce development,
education, training and employment for adults and youth.
The Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) manages the CWC.

Go to the CWC Member’s Portal at:
https://cwc.cedac.org/member.aspx

If you are new to CWC, click on “New Member
Registration” and create your free member account/
profile.

If you are a returning member, sign in to your
member account with your username (e-mail address)
and password.
Registration for
this event begins:
If you don’t know or have forgotten your password,
click on “Retrieve Account Information”. You will then
have the ability to retrieve your password by entering
your e-mail address or First Name/Last Name.

Once logged in, you will be directed to your “Members
Profile”. Please review & update your contact
information and make sure to click on “Save”.

Select the “Events” tab to view all of the events that
are open for registration. Next to “Boston Peer
Learning Network” click on the “Register Now” link.

Click on “Register”. You will then be asked to click on
“Finalize” to complete your registration.
Once registration is finalized an automatic confirmation
email will be sent to you. Each person attending must
