AJP WINS IN VALONGO
EXTREME ENDURO EUROPEAN CUP
EMANUEL COSTA AND PAULO RUSSO ON TOP
The second race of the Extreme Enduro European Cup was held
on the 25/26th April in Valongo, North of Portugal and received
the presence of the two AJP official riders, handling a pair of
PR4 240 Extreme.
On Saturday, the first day, in the prologue, Emanuel Costa and
Paulo Russo felt some problems facing the artificial obstacles
designed in the center of Ermesinde, a town near Valongo,
difficulties that were underlined by the heavy rain that created
very slippery conditions.
Despite those limitations, Emanuel went 11th and Paulo 20th on
the general classification, in the middle of a competitive pack of
64 riders, some of them coming from other European countries
and showing a good riding level. Emanuel Costa managed to
finish the day on the second place of the hobby class.
On Sunday, all riders had to face a 16km demanding track
designed on the heart of the Valongo mountains, with a high
level of difficulty. The prologue classification of the day before
gave the departure order to the race and top riders were expected to complete four laps.
AJP ON THE PODIUM
The performance of the two AJP riders was extremely positive,
despite a serious crash from Paulo Russo that made him lost
some precious time. He kept fighting with the top guys in the Pro
class and managed to finish fourth among them, being fifth
overall.
Emanuel Costa confirmed his riding skills and showed an
increasing balance with his PR4 240 Extreme, finishing the day
with the first place in the Hobby class and third overall, being the
best portuguese on the race.
AJP PR4 240 Extreme technical features and ease of use make
this model a very efective option for Extreme Enduro races,
showing great agility and traction that help all riders to overcome
the most challenging obstacles.
Emanuel Costa and Paulo Russo will now focus their attention
on the Red Bull Romaniacs, considered the most demanding
Extreme Enduro Race in the world. Both riders will take part in
this venue, from 15th to 18th July, in Romania.
