tavern and at the next fork we hold left onto the gravel road and then continue straight ahead
at the next fork. We follow the gravel road to the little church of Hochgallmigg, and then turn
left onto a gravel road towards Landeck. In Landeck we turn right and cross the wooden bridge
and follow Maisengasse up to Landeck Castle. From the castle we choose the gravel road to the
left and follow it until the shooting range, and as of the 5th turn we go slightly downhill – follow the signs toward Fließer Platte (pushing the bike a short distance). From the Fließer Platte
(at the chapel: sign Via Claudia Augusta) we follow the road to Fließ and cross the village.

BIKE TOURS TÖSENS
BIKE TOURS PRUTZ
Tour – St. Georgen
Tour – Asterhöfe
This tour starts in Prutz with a steep blacktop uphill to Asters. The following gravel road leads
light upwards until we reach the downhill to Ladis. From Ladis we ride on the field trail up to
Fiss. After seeing the village of Fiss we roll the highway back down to the valley. When we reach
Gstals we take the orographic left side of the Inn and ride along the river back to the starting
point in Prutz.
We roll ourselves warm from Tösens to Tschuppbach before we begin the steep ascent to Stadelwies. After a short detour to the little church of St. Georgen (an early Romanesque structure
with later added Gothic parts), we ride on to Serfaus. Crossing the Serfaus field we arrive at the
entrance to a steep uphill path. After a short recovery on a cart path we have to push the bikes
for a while. Using cart paths followed by blacktop roads, we reach Tösens. The variation across
the old Roman Bridge is one alternative with a historic flair.

We take the steep road to Ladis, using shortcuts whenever possible. We pass the pond in Ladis
and continue on a cart path to Oberen Asterhof, where a steep ascent awaits us. From Neuegg
we have a short downhill, and then we continue on the Herrenweg, a path that turns into a
gravel road at Seala Bödele. We ascend approximately 150 altitude meters on this gravel road
before we are rewarded with another downhill. An ascent to Falterjöchl is followed by the descent to Ladis and we then continue downhill to Prutz.
This tour has a tough start, with an immediate ascent to Übersachsen. After passing the last
farm in Übersachsen we follow a steep gravel road to Langetsbergalm. Soon we are on a cart
path, and the last 300-meter on a path to Oberen Alm. We follow the driveway back to Langhaus
where we turn towards the Sachsner Mill (ruin), ascend for 1.5 km over the caldron, then downhill to Ganden and Tösens. This tour is very varied and beautiful, but also challenging. Mountain

INN BIKE PATH
Winding its way along the river Inn for 500 kilometers from the source - Maloja
Pass (Switzerland), to the estuary at the Danube (Germany), this alpine cycling
trip showcases a colourful composition of scenic highlights.
The Inn Bike Path from Maloja to Passau leads from the proud two hundred and three hundred-metre mountains in Engadin and Tyrol to the gentle hills on the Lower Inn in Bavaria and Upper Austria. The landscape contrasts along the beautiful river make the biking tour a very special natural
experience.
The section mostly runs over bike paths, transport roads, side roads or relatively empty main roads.
The Inn Bike Path is not completely asphalted, but leads over long sections on gravel roads. It
is therefore recommendable to use off-road, trekking or mountain bikes. Between Maloja and
Landeck and partly between Landeck and Innsbruck, there are some steep sections. Between
Innsbruck and Passau, there are only a few steep inclines.

Guided tour of Pfunds
The Kraftwerk Kaunertal counts to one of Austria‘s largest reservoir power stations. It was built between 1961 and 1964 and uses the 900-meter downhill
grade between the upper Kaunertal valley and the Inntal valley at Prutz.
We invite you to come on a guided tour of the historic village centre of Pfunds.
We visit and learn the history of many heritage protected houses, like for example the “Tower” – the landmark of Pfunds, the “Judge’s House” – a representative example for how people lived in the hamlet of Stuben.
Shut-down silver mine
In Platzertal and Berglertal valleys, high above Tösens, the mines yielded galena, blackjack, fahlerz and copper pyrite until fairly recently. This was the most
important ore deposit of the Landeck region. The facilities are now in ruins, but
have been landmarked to be saved for future generations.

Castle Sigmundsried, Ried
In the 13th and 14th century the castle was seat of the Counts of Ried. In
1471/72 the residence was converted into a spending hunting lodge. In 1550
the court of law was moved from Laudegg Castle to Sigmundsried. The castle had its share of owners. The last family of noble descent to live here were
the Sterzingers (Martin Sterzinger, 1750 battle of Pontlaz hero), and they left
around 1750. The groined vaults in the entrance hall were painted with renaissance flowers around the year 1535/40. Painted on the two spandrels over the
middle column is a Coat of Arms from the same period. All these details and

Altfinstermünz is an old fortress that once guarded the Roman Emperor transfer route Via Claudia. Via Claudia stretched
form the Po valley in Italy, crossing the Alps by the Reschen
Pass and ended in Augsburg, Germany. The route was in use until the new Reschen Road was built (1850–1854). Characteristics of the border fortress are
the machicolation defense tower, a passageway through the premises and the
square tower Sigmundseck. A long cave leads up to the tower. The renovated
chapel (2005/06) is located close to the old toll watchtower by the Inn canyon.
The Altfinstermünz Association was founded in 2001, and the club has since
actively worked to restore and revitalize the fortress, making it into one of the
main attractions of the region.

Fortress Berneck, Kauns
The fortress of Berneck thrones proudly high above the entrance to Kaunertal

to the year of 1225, where it was mentioned as “Hegeno de Berneggo”. There
are signs of pre-Christian settlements on this rock outcrop, mostly in the form
of pottery findings. Fortress Berneck was built on a rock 130-m above the valley to secure the trade route over the Piller.

In Kauns stand three old and beautifully decorated farmhouses that once belonged to Fortress Berneck – the so called Schlosshäuser (castle houses). The
history of Kaiser Maximillian is recognizable on the outer paintings. Among
other things, “Wiesejaggl“ the infamous poacher who raised havoc in the Kaunertal Valley during the rule of the emperor has been portrayed. Today, the
3 castle houses are in private ownership, and local farmer families live here.
Church of St. Georgen
At approximately 1,100 m altitude, high above Tösens but officially belonging to
Serfaus, stands the little church St. Georgen. It is one of the oldest architectural
landmarks of Tyrol. The original parts date back to the 8th and 9th century. It is
a Romanesque rectangular building with a wooden flat ceiling and attached by
a Gothic ribbed vault. The chapel and Georg altar were inaugurated in 1497. The
fresco paintings depicting the Passion of Christ date from 1482. The church also
boasts a gothic reliquary (1240), of which there is a copy in the niche.

people who find their happiness on the back of steel horses. The
Tiroler Oberland is a perfect “paddock” for motorcycle vacationer
and motorcycle trips: going on here, there are the most beautiful
passes like Stilfserjoch, Timmelsjoch, Ofenpass, Flüelapass, Reschenpass, Arlbergpass, ... In the two free trade zones, Samnaun
Switzerland and Livigno in Italy, you get not only cheap gas, but
also top brands at duty free prices: watches, perfumes, cosmetics, tobacco and
much more.

Aqua Dome – Therme Längenfeld
Aqua Dome in Längenfeld, the only thermal spa in Tyrol, was built to blend in
perfectly in the Ötztal mountains. The facility has everything you need to relax
and rejuvenate body and mind, including beauty, spa, fitness, kids’ programs,
water gymnastics and health programs. The warm (34–36° C) water originates
from the high glaciers, pours through the rock and minerals down to approximately 1,800 m, where it gushes out as thermal water.

The municipal capitol of Tyrol and two-time Olympia host has more than just
sports arenas to offer. Innsbruck has a long history and many historical and
cultural landmarks. Among the most popular sights are: Old town with the
Golden Roof, the Imperial Palace, the Triumphal Arch, the Battle of Bergisel
Cyclorama, Castle Ambras, Alpenzoo, and much more.
Bernina-Express
Alpenzoo is the highest altitude zoo of Europe (750 m)! More than 2000 animals and 150 species invite you to a special Alpine experience. Special about
this zoo is that the exhibitions show Alpine animals and their environments
how they are today as well as historically.
Travel through Swiss Engadin, over the Bernina Pass to Tirano. Take the train
ride from Tirano with the “Bernina Express“ to Pontresina. Duration: approx.
2 h 30 min. Then to St. Moritz return to the starting point. Truly an impressive

palm trees of Veltlin.
