Faith and Light: Dinner and Dance Fundraiser
Faith and Light, a movement in support of families with members having intellectual disabilities,
will host this special event on Saturday, April 25 from 5:30pm-11pm at St. John Fisher Parish
(120 Summerhill Ave., Pointe-Claire). Everyone is welcome to enjoy a fun-filled evening! Cost is

West Island Women’s Retreat
The theme will be JOY - In Our Lives and Our Churches and will be hosted by the Anglican Diocese
of Montreal. Every woman needs some quiet time when she can stop, reflect and turn to God; a
time when she can think through the priorities of her life without those inevitable interruptions
and those seemingly endless demands on her time and energy; a time for renewing herself
mentally, physically and spiritually. Women of all Christian faiths seeking time with God are
welcome. The retreat will be held from Friday, April 24 to Sunday April 26 at Ermitage Ste-Croix
(21269 Gouin Blvd. West, Pierrefonds). This will be a silent retreat that is guided and structured
but with plenty of free time to rest and reflect. Join us on a journey of spiritual nourishment and

St. Luke Parish: CAFÉ Series—Encountering Jesus in the Poor and Marginalized
How did Jesus respond to persons on the margins of society? How does his example invite us to
reconsider the way we look upon the poor and those living “on the edge”? Join Brian McDonough

Ignatian Spirituality Centre: Messiah Trap—When Helping You is Hurting Me
With Cathie Macaulay on Saturday, May 2 from 9am-3pm (4567 West Broadway, Montreal). This
workshop explores seven common styles of being a “Messiah” and some of the ways in which we
can become aware of unhealthy patterns in our helping relationships. The course also looks at
healthy models of Christian service and leadership. In an interactive way, students will explore the
balance in their own lives of service, and increase awareness of how to make decisions and find

St. Luke Parish: CAFÉ - You See What I See?
An Artist’s Approach from Caveman to Picasso, offered by Tony Rettino, is a three-part seminar
and workshop that will challenge how we see the world around us. We will look at the past and see

The Miriam Schachter Vineberg Foundation: Film Presentation - Of Many
Presenting Of Many by Linda Mills; Executive Producer Chelsea Clinton, on Tuesday, April 14,
7:30pm at the Jewish Public Library (5151 Côte-Ste-Catherine Rd., Montreal). Set against the
dramatic backdrop of violence in the Middle East and the tension between Jewish and Muslim
students on college campuses, Of Many focuses on the surprising and transformative relationship
between an Orthodox Rabbi and an Imam who serve as university chaplains in New York City. We
witness young religious Jews and Muslims working together and overcoming long-standing divides
through a series of voyages to communities struck by catastrophe. Timely and humourous, this
short documentary offers an inspiring and hopeful narrative in the face of a seemingly

Ignatian Spirituality Centre: Hearing God in Others - A Listening Skills Course
A six-session course designed to develop a spirituality of listening. Ideal for those involved in the
pastoral care of the elderly, the sick and young adults. Basic skills for fostering communication in
family relationships will be developed. The course uses a highly interactive, hands-on approach,
with theoretical concepts applied through role-play, prayerful reflection and other exercises.
