TITLE and JURISDICTION
S1.1
Title
This Series shall only be known as and referred to as the “2015 Australian Sports Racer
Series.”
S1.2
(a)
Authority / Jurisdiction
Each event in the 2015 Australian Sports Racer Series (Series) shall be conducted under
the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the Federation Internationale de
l‟Automobile (FIA); the National Competition Rules (NCR) and Race Meeting Standing
Regulations (RMSR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd (CAMS); the
Sporting Regulations issued for this Series by CAMS; the Technical Regulations as
published by CAMS; Supplementary and Further Regulations issued by the Organiser at
each round; Bulletins issued by the Stewards of the Meeting, and any Driver Briefing
Notes issued by the Clerk of the Course at a meeting.
(b)
This Series has been sanctioned by CAMS as a National Series.
(c)
Australian Sports Racer Series Pty Ltd has been appointed as the Category Manager
(CM) by CAMS for this Series.

ADMINISTRATION
S2.1
Personnel
The following personnel have been appointed to the Series by CAMS and/or the CM and have
the authority to administer the various aspects of these regulations as detailed in the RMSR.

COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to compete in the Series, each Competitor must hold a current CAMS
Competitor‟s Licence and be registered with the CM.

AUTOMOBILE ELIGIBILITY
Each automobile must comply with the provisions of Article S4(a) or S4(b) below to be eligible
to compete in the Series.
(a) Automobiles complying with the provisions of the Group 2C Supersports Regulations as
detailed in the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport with the following restrictions:
(i)
Fitted with an engine derived from a production motorcycle located behind the driver
compartment
(ii)
Maximum engine capacity of 1500cc
(iii) Minimum Racing Weight of 520kg for engine capacity up to 1000cc
(iv) Minimum Racing Weight of 560kg for engine capacity from 1001cc to 1355cc
(v) Minimum Racing Weight of 620kg for engine capacity from 1356cc to 1500cc
(b) Automobiles complying with the provisions of the Group 6SR Sports Racer Regulations
as detailed in the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport with the following restrictions:
(i)
Maximum engine rotational speed of 13,200 rpm for the Kawasaki ZX10R 1000
engine
(ii)
Maximum engine rotational speed of 12,700 rpm for the Suzuki GSXR 1000 engine
The bodywork shall cover all of the mechanical components (including drive train and
suspension components). Only the exhaust and air intake ducting, and the top of the engine
may project outside of the bodywork.
Any ballast which is carried must be securely fixed (eg, welded, riveted or bolted) and located
in a position able to be readily checked.
S4.1
Automobile Classes
There shall be two (2) classes for eligible automobiles within the Series as follows:
Class One (1):
For complying Group 6SR automobiles as detailed in S4(b) above.
Class Two (2):
For complying Group 2C automobiles as detailed in S4(a) above.
S4.2
Replacement Automobiles
Following the commencement of the first qualifying session of each round of the Series, any
automobile that has been entered to compete at that Round may not be replaced with another
automobile.

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to compete in the Series, each Driver must hold a current CAMS Provisional
Circuit Licence or higher, unless noted otherwise in the Supplementary Regulations for a
particular Round of the Series.

Substitute Drivers
Prior to the commencement of the first qualifying session at each Round of the Series, each
Competitor may nominate a substitute Driver who may be permitted to compete in the
remainder of the meeting subject to the approval of the Stewards of the Meeting.
S6
SERIES ROUNDS / REGISTRATION
The Series shall be conducted over five (5) Rounds as detailed in the Series Calendar below.
Each race conducted as a part of the Series shall count in determining the final results.
Each Competitor must be registered with the Series Organiser.

ROUND FORMAT
The number, length and format of track sessions shall ultimately be negotiated between the
CM and the event Organiser prior to a Round of the Series and shall be advised in the
relevant Supplementary / Further Supplementary Regulations issued for a meeting.
S8.1
Round Format
Generally, the format for each round of the Series shall be as follows:

Friday Practice

Official Practice - Approx. 20 minutes

Qualifying
- Minimum one (1) 20 minute qualifying session - (normally Saturday).

Races
- Two (2) races of approx 20 minutes and One (1) race of approx 25
- Normally 3 x 20 minute sessions – (optional)
minutes as detailed in the Further Supplementary Regulations issued
for each meeting.
S8.2
Variations to Timetable
The timetable may be varied at any time due to exceptional circumstances only with the prior
approval of the Stewards of the Meeting.

GRID DETERMINATION
The grid for each race shall be determined as detailed in the Race Meeting Standing
Regulations (RMSR) – Progressive Grid.

START PROCEDURE
The start procedure for each race shall be detailed in the RMSR – Non-Championship –
Standing Start.

AWARDS and POINTSCORE
S11.1
Prizes and Trophies
Prizes, trophies and awards shall be as determined by the CM and shall be advised to each
Competitor.
S11.2
Series Pointscore
(a) Points shall be awarded to each Driver, based on their finishing position relative to the
other Drivers within their class of the Series, for each race as follows:

Points shall only be awarded to Drivers classified as finishers in the final results of each
race.
(c)
If fewer than two (2) automobiles qualify for any class at any Round of the Series, no
Series points shall be awarded for that class for that Round of the Series.
(d)
Any race which is stopped, and not restarted, and during which less than 50% of the race
distance has been completed by the leader shall be deemed a non-race in respect of
Series points and no points shall be awarded.
(e)
Any race which is stopped, and not restarted, during which 50% to 75% of the race
distance has been completed by the leader shall be deemed to have been completed in
respect of Series points but only 50% Series points shall be awarded.
(f)
Any race which is stopped during which 75% or more of the race distance has been
completed by the leader shall be deemed to have finished and full Series points shall be
awarded.

(g)
In addition to the above, two (2) points shall be awarded to the Driver that sets the fastest
qualifying time at each Round of the Series.
(h)
The results for each Round of the Series shall be determined by the number of points
scored by each Driver at that Round.
(i)
In the event of a tie at the end of any Round of the Series, the final positions for that
Round shall be determined by comparing the results of each of the tied Drivers in the final
race of that Round. The higher place in the Round results shall be awarded to the Driver
with the higher finishing position within their class in the final race.
(j)
The Driver gaining the highest points total over the five (5) Rounds shall be declared the
winner of the Series.
(k) In the event of a tie at the end of any Round of the Series, the final positions for that
Round shall be determined by comparing the results of each of the tied Drivers in the final
race of that Round. The higher place in the Round results shall be awarded to the Driver
with the higher finishing position in the final race.
(l)
In the event of a tie at the end of the Series, final positions shall be determined by
comparing the race results achieved by each tied Driver, with the Driver with the highest
number of first places within their class being awarded the higher Series position. If at this
stage a tie still exists, it shall be resolved by comparing the number of second, third or
fourth places (and so on) achieved by each tied Driver within their class until all positions
have been determined.
S12
EVENT OPERATIONS
S12.1
Registration and Entry
The Series shall operate under the CAMS Series Registration and Entry Process. Series
Registration and Entry Forms shall be available from the CM with document checking being
conducted by the CM prior to the first official track session at each Round of the Series.
S12.2
Driver/Team Manager Briefings
Each Driver and Team Manager (i.e. an appropriately authorised representative of the
Competitor, other than the driver) must attend the compulsory Drivers‟ briefing. The time and
location of this briefing shall be detailed in the Supplementary or Further Regulations for the
meeting. The attendance sheet must be signed by the Driver and the Team Manager to
confirm attendance. Other compulsory briefings may be convened as required and shall be
advised to each Competitor accordingly.
S12.3
(a)
Impound/Parc Ferme
Each automobile, including those remaining in pit lane, must proceed directly to the
designated impound/Parc Ferme area via the most direct route (or as directed by Race
Officials) at the conclusion of qualifying, without returning to pit or paddock areas and
without interference from any third party (other than an Official of the Meeting).

(b)
Each automobile completing each race must proceed directly to the designated
impound/Parc Ferme area via the most direct route (or as directed by Race Officials) at
the conclusion of the race, without returning to pit or paddock areas and without
interference from any third party (other than an Official of the Meeting).
(c)
Automobiles may not be removed from impound/Parc Ferme except with the express
permission of the Chief Scrutineer.
S12.4
Qualifying
During qualifying, automobiles may not return to the paddock area without the express
permission of the Chief Scrutineer. If an automobile exits pit lane to the paddock during
qualifying it shall not be permitted to re-join that session.
S12.5
(a)
Pit Lane
Each Pit Crew member is required to sign a Pit Lane Indemnity Form prior to the first
track session and to display identification as and if required by the meeting Organiser.
(b)
Each Competitor must appoint a Car Controller who shall be solely responsible for the
stopping of, and the safe release of the automobile at all times whilst the automobile is in
pit lane.
S12.6
Removal of Automobiles from the Circuit
Following the commencement of the first qualifying session, it is not permitted to remove any
automobile from the circuit prior to the completion of the meeting without the prior express
written approval of the Chief Scrutineer.
S12.7
Practice Starts
Practice starts are only permitted at the pit lane exit.
S13
TYRES
(a)
Automobiles must only use the specified control tyre brand approved by CM.
(b)
Unless stated otherwise in the event Supplementary or Further Supplementary
Regulations, a maximum of four (4) new dry tyres (2 front & 2 rear) shall be marked for
each automobile for each Round of the Series. With the exception of treaded tyres used
on a damp or wet track, these marked tyres are the only tyres permitted to be used on
that automobile during any qualifying session or race at that Round.
(c)
Each Competitor must present all tyres to the Chief Scrutineer (or his nominee) for
marking at the front of their respective garage/paddock bay a minimum of one (1) hour
prior to qualifying.
(d)
Each Competitor is responsible for ensuring that all tyres are marked or re-marked as
appropriate. If the tyres are not marked for any reason or the markings become illegible,
the Competitor must notify the Chief Scrutineer immediately.

(e)
Replacement tyres shall only be permitted if the Chief Scrutineer is satisfied that due to
exceptional circumstances, the tyre in question can no longer be used. The Chief
Scrutineer shall ensure that the tyre to be replaced has been rendered unusable and that
the replacement tyre is of the same specification and of similar wear to the tyre being
replaced.
(f)
Should a competitor be permitted to replace a marked tyre, the automobile concerned
must start the next race at that Round of the Series from the rear of the grid.
S14
(g)
The use of any tyre heating, heat retention devices or chemical treatments are prohibited.
(h)
The quantity of wet tyres permitted is free.
FUEL
(a) Each automobile must only use the specified (unbranded) control fuel/s approved by the
CM.
Please note: With the exception of ambient atmospheric air and the specified control
fuel, no other substance may be added to the intake charge of the engine.
(b) No other substance may be added to the specified fuel.
(c) Prior to the commencement of qualifying at each Round of the Series, each Competitor
must purchase a minimum of 60 litres of fuel per automobile entered, from the official fuel
supplier.
(d) Fuel samples may be taken from competition automobiles at any time. Any discrepancy
will be reported to the Stewards of the Meeting by the Chief Scrutineer.
(e) Each Competitor is responsible for fuel samples being able to be obtained safely and
promptly upon request by the Chief Scrutineer.
(f)
All fuel sampled shall be compared with that provided by the onsite supplier.
(g) Series fuel/s, a specification analysis, and distribution details will be available on request
from the CM.
S15
REFUELLING
All refuelling must be carried out in the Pit Garage or the paddock area and must conform to
the following requirements:
(a) The automobile‟s engine must be switched off; and
(b) A Fire Attendant must be present; and
(c)
During any draining or refuelling procedure, the automobile and all vessels where
fuel is being transferred must be earthed to a suitable earth point; and
(d) Any draining or refuelling procedure must be carried out using “dry break” type fittings; and
(e) All personnel handling fuel must discharge themselves of static electricity prior to
participating in any refuelling or fuel transferring procedures; and

(f)
Mobile phones must be switched off in the immediate vicinity of the draining or
refuelling procedure; and
(g) Any device and substance, which changes the temperature of the fuel from the ambient
air temperature, is prohibited. All fuel being placed in the automobile must be done so at
ambient temperature.
S16
ELECTRONIC TRACTION ENHANCEMENT DEVICES
The fitment and use of electronic traction enhancement devices such as traction control,
launch control and anti-lock braking systems (ABS) is prohibited.
S17
VIDEO CAMERA & RECORDING DEVICE
(a) Each automobile must carry a fully operational digital video camera and recording
device and any associated Camera equipment to ensure the full functionality and
recording capability of the Camera in all practice, qualifying and racing sessions at each
round.
(b) The Camera system must be supplied by the competitor and authorised by the CM.
(c) The Camera and its associated equipment shall be installed in the automobile with the
Camera pointed in a forward direction with a field of vision sufficiently wide to record
clearly, and without obstruction at all times, the Driver‟s view of the race track ahead.
(d) The Competitor shall be required to ensure that the Camera is switched on and
functioning in the correct manner prior to the automobile entering the Circuit for all
practice, qualifying and racing sessions and remain operational for the entirety of each
session.
(e) Access to the Camera must be provided to technicians appointed by the CM at any time
upon request.
(f)
No person other than authorised personnel shall interfere with the Camera, other
than to remove and replace the flash card.
(g) When requested, Teams must immediately provide the flash card to the Series
Steward upon request.
(h) No Camera may be transferred to any Team, other Entity or person without the written
approval of the CM.
S18
RAIN LIGHT
The fitment of a rain light on each automobile is compulsory. The rain light must be illuminated
at all times whilst the automobile is fitted with wet weather tyres and is being driven on the
race circuit or as otherwise directed by Race Control.

DATA LOGGERS
Each automobile must be fitted with a data logger at all times during each Round of the Series.
Each data logger must remain fully operational to record the engine RPM of the automobile for
the duration of all practice sessions, qualifying sessions and races. Access to the logged data
recorded by the data logger must be provided to the Chief Scrutineer at any time upon
request.
The Chief Scrutineer is the sole arbiter with regard to the interpretation of any data and the
determination of compliance of each automobile with the maximum engine RPM as detailed in
the Group 6SR Technical Regulations. Any decision made by the Chief Scrutineer in this
regard will not be the subject of any protest or appeal.
S20
AUTOMATIC TIMING - DATA 1 TRANSMITTER
Event Organisers utilise an automatic timing system that requires all cars to be fitted with a
Dorian Data 1 transmitter. It is the responsibility of each competitor to obtain and maintain a
transmitter in working order.
At all times when an automobile is on the circuit at a meeting (inclusive of unofficial practice
sessions), it must have the correct fully charged timing transmitter operating.

RACE MANAGEMENT CHANNEL (RMC)
A team „race management‟ radio is optional in 2015 will be mandatory in 2016. Each
Competitor must monitor, on a strictly listening basis only, the RMC at least 15 minutes prior to
the scheduled start time of each session or race during the event. All relevant track messages
received on the RMC must be relayed to the Driver as well as the Team Manager. The RMC
frequency is 471.700 MHz 71.9 Hz.

AUTOMOBILE MARKINGS
In addition to the requirements detailed below, each automobile must comply with Schedule K
of the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport:
Each automobile must provide space and/or display the following Series markings,
appropriately attached and positioned as detailed below, at all times during each Round of the
Series.
(i)
A space 220mm wide x 400mm high between the rear edge of the front wheel arch and
the leading edge of the rear wheel on each side.
(ii)
A Sports Racer decal on the end plates of the rear spoiler, or side of the vehicle toward
the rear of the car.
A space of 400mm wide x 450mm wide between the front wheel and the front of the car or on
the nose section of the automobile for Australian Sports Racer Series Sponsor.
